How about making up a football watchers survival kit including a 6 pack of his favourite tipple, a few of his favourite snacks, scarf and socks from his team and other little 'fillers' that you know he likes.

good idea.......that would have to wait until we were back though. He usually watches the matches at either his mates house or the pub so I don't think he would sit down and use them all at the same time in front of a match (iykwim).
I bought him 1 share in Man Utd once......he was mega chuffed...the following year there was a compulsory share buy from the new owner:mad:........he was very gutted....:(
