I looked on the website and online for new customers this is currently £145.50 or £105.75 after online discount - what happened to rewarding continued custom!!!!! I've looked at the AA website and for the same it would cost me £114.75 plus quidco are doing £50 cashback! Thanks RAC but no thanks!!
make sure youre not on automatic renewal,
so many people fall for this one without realising it and they are stuck with it for a year.make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.0 -
Lol - Things don't seem to be so Automatic in this Country anymore!!
You have to tell people 5 x if you want anything doing right!!

But the RAC ring you constantly and update you as to when the recovery operator will arrive.
I was always told years ago when I was a GF member that if they looked under the bonnet and had a lookaround then I would be charged 72.00 + any other 'Hands on' jobs the contractor undertakes.
All the GF would do is recover you home and anything extra would deem a charge.
Utter rubbish, my Daughter had a front wheel puncture, called Green Flag, the local contractor was with her within 20 minutes, changed the wheel for her, no additional charges.
Care to provide a link to substantiate your false claim that GF charge extra for any road side repairs/help.0 -
For what it's worth...
The AA now provide support to Aston & Bentley and will put calls to their owners infront of their members. If a member breaks down on one side of the motorway and an Aston on the opposite, the van will be rerouted to the Aston.0 -
If you have Tesco clubcard vouchers you can use them for RAC cover.:heart2: Love isn't finding someone you can live with. It's finding someone you can't live without :heart2:0

It is usally far cheaper to take the cover in with your Insurance.
I pay 57.00 per month for my Volvo, That includes the 1 million cover? and the RAC FULL cover for 12 months.
Not bad really.
I have had my first and last problem with RAC Motoring as they are only brokers now ? I recently wanted to add a Romahome to my Ins. but they said they dont do
motorhomes. Fair enough I said as I had only just renewed a month ago could I cancel
and move away from them. I had only just Paid them over £370 pounds for Ins and
Full Breakdown cover ( Full NO Claims Dis.) They had the Cheek to offer me
£190.00 .So I asked to change my breakdown cover to a car not insured with them.
They said my Breakdown was in with my Insurance and not with RAC BREAKDOWN and had a different Breakdown Tel No.
So I would check very carefully if anyone deals with them in the future ?As One Door Closes

They are all as bad as each other.
Ive been withh Green Flag 2 1/2 years for my motorhome. Had to call them out twice, once just for a blowout on the motorwayy, the other a bit more serious.
The first time, took about an hour, the second time , weell , lets just say i was very please i had a motorhome ! I had made myself supper, a cuppa, and had a couple of hours kip before the guy turned up 3 hours later !
Butt that isnt the purpose of my post.
I want to stop people getting caught out by Green Flag the way i have just been !
Having sold my motorhome i rang up to cancel my breakdown cover. having paid 6 months of the premium i expected to pay a little more for admin, and that would be that....but no !
Somwhere in thhe small print in the last 18 months, they have changed form a 25% cancelllation feee to a whopping 50% fee !
So basically despite having paid off more than half my premium this year, they have now sent me a biill for the rest of the premium, ie 50% cancellation charge. So i cancel, get a bill for half the premium ot pay all in one go, and no cover, as against i dont cancel, and get charged the same amount spread over 6 months !
All i can say is they are going to whistle for the payment, i have deleted their DD !, but what great customer relations. There is no way on this earth i will use Green Flag when i get a new motorhome next year, and i think the point is here, if there is any chance you will have a vehicle, and not be replacing it immediatley should you plan to selll it.....dont use Green Flag !0 -
I already get basic roadside assistance with my Lloyds bank account, £12 a month, which also gets you travel insurance and mobile insurance.
I rang up to ask how much for Home start and Relay and they said £105, but if I upgrade the account to Platinum I get those for £60 a year, so I reckon that's what I'll do. It's a joint account so covers both of us and for any car.0
