Next Catalogue

Hi All

I don't know if I have put this in the correct place. But I wondered, has anyone seen a thread on the freebies regarding a FREE NEXT CATALOGUE? I only come on here for freebies and have received a next catalogue last month. I have now received a bill for it. It isn't even my correct address on the envelope! I only got it as my postman knows me.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

ps. I have put it on freebies just to see if i have answered a free catalogue if you buy something and i haven't read it properly, but still wondering why my address is incorrect.

I'm glad you posted about this as i received the Next books yesterday too complete with account number. I've never requested them as i couldn't afford them and i know i've never filled anything in online either. I rang them to ask where it had come from and why it had been sent to me and the woman said I must have filled out a form instore.

I told her there is no way that has happened as its been almost 2 years since I went into a Next store and I could even tell her which one it was.

I closed the account there and then on the phone

Oh and she asked me to return the catalogues and that they would send pre paid packaging in order to do it.

    Hi Bravobeastie

Well I haven't even been in any Next shops, never bought anything whatsoever from them. I will be ringing them up myself today and ask them where they got my incorrect details from.

Not being funny, but I am so pleased I am not alone on this matter.

Well I threw mine out, never read any details as I knew I hadn't sent for it. So wonder what will happen there!
  • Could it be possible that a friend/colleague/someone you vaguely know signed you up as they do an offer whereby if you introduce people you get £5 credited to your account or something along those lines . Boden do a similar thing and I've heard of people getting cataloguies as some people were using their ebay transactions for names and addresses as you get £2.50 for each name and address that that isn't already on their system.

I know what you mean, I'm glad its not just me as well lol. I actually thought it was some kind of a referral thing (someone I fell out with last year and this is just the kind of childish thing they would do)

I didn't know that they bill you for the books, so it could be they are trying to make a few quid this way cause I sure as hell never requested a Next catalogue.

I wonder how many others this has happened to because if I hadn't seen your thread I wouldn't have thought to post about it on here!

Thats what I thought it was, but when I rang her she said it was filling out a form instore. I would think if it was a referral then that would be on their system and the letter they sent with the book may have said something about it?

When I looked through the book there was a flyer in there about recommending a friend and that when said friend made first order they would credit referrers account with £75

Do you guys enter any competitions from MSE? There was a competition the other day and entering it meant Next would send you a catalogue and set up an account. A few MSE-ers hadn't realised and got a catalogue in the post.

Yes, it was from a comp - I think it was to win a voucher for £500 or so.

I left it as I didn't want to pay for this catalogue. Will try to find it.

    http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=1930363&highlight=next+500 found it!

    Hi Moneymaker

I have had a look, I normally hit the "Thanks" button when I correspond to anything and I haven't on this occassion. So I don't know if it is from the comp or not!

But thank you for finding it, I had been on here 3 hours and still didn't find it.
