Tired Mum A hug for you and your son. I hope he gets the help and support he needs. It must be very hard for you.
Wow, it's windy here! and my kids are sailing:rotfl: OH has texted that they are doing land-based stuff as it is blowing a force 6 in Brum where they are.
I've hung out my washing and as it is quite sunny here as well as windy I think it'll be dry soon.
I've picked a good bowlful of raspberries. I seem to have a lot of homegrown fruit at the moment -bags of blackberries in the freezer, a basket of quinces, raspberries every other day and my russet apples are ready. They aren't very nice though this year, a touch bitter. Think I'll be baking with them. There are still some white and red currants in the freezer too and some damsons. I really must remember to use them.0 -
Morning all,we had a lie in too, about 9.30,but we were late going to bed after our pub meal out, which was very nice.Just having a lazy morning, football match this aft.We have decided to drive up instead of catching the match bus,as it took so long to get home last time ,it got stuck in the traffic, and had so many stops I dont think its worth it.Mind you,the carpark is fairly bad to get off from as well,so will compare for next time and decide.
Its also very windy here, looks like it might rain.I have to pick up 2 books I reserved from the library, but can do that on the way to footie.I think I might make pizza for tea ,as its quick when we get in-I can do the base before we go out.
Hugs to the many people who need them,or just want one.Have a good day.
Tiredmum, you must be so worried, but hope things work out for the best now DS can get some help.x:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. (Eleanor Roosevelt)0 -
Tired Mum - what a sad worrying time for you all. I really hope your son gets the help he needs and that life will get better soon. (((Hugs))) to you all.
Gertadurna - You did right to speak up for your colleague - hope everything went well at work today.
RedRuby - I didn't know there has been problems in the USA with the cervical cancer vaccine. I would have recommended it despite the sad death of the British girl last week, but not if there have been concerns about it elsewhere. It's easy for me to say; I've had sons, not daughters, but I would want to leave it a while until it has been proved beyond doubt to be safe, so I think you're wise.
Well, it's a lovely day here and, thankfully, not as cold as yesterday. I see that the UK has high winds today, so I hope it settles soon. I'm trying not to complain when it's cold - seeing the devasation in Sumatra, Samoa and American Samoa - which I can't see they'll ever recover from - makes me think a bit of unsettled weather here is trivial. Those poor poor people.
Well, onion soup is bubbling away and smelling delicious, and I've prepped the veg for the chicken casserole later, so I'm feeling quite smug about food today. DH is fitting a door this morning, not an easy task because he has to fit the frame in around a big beam that has been used for the lintel. All good fun - for him, not me!

(((Tired-mum))) Hope your son gets the medical help he needs, as others have said I def wouldnt worry about the osing for the time being.
JackieO - Thank you, loads of people think Essex is all towns and chavs. I live on the water & Mersea Island is the other side - we are really lucky to live here, a lot of our money problems came when we bought this house but I dont regret it for a minute.
Redruby - I couldnt wait
gonna have a play with it in a minute its got so many functions it will take me some time.
DD has had her first HPV jab 2 weeks ago, no side effects apart from a heavy arm for a day or so. Have seen some of the stories so think will have a good look into it further.
Havnt done hardly anything I'd planned, took DS for a haircut and picked up some of the posh M&S biccies. OH wanted to look for a netbook so we had a mooch down PC World, I didnt want to buy it there (prefer online shops & through Quidco) but he really wanted to see the one he wanted - waitied 15 minutes for a salesperson to find they were out of stock anyway, another couple looking at a different one had the same problem so a complete waste of time. Will have a look online later, then will have to start computer lessons with OH - he's never bothered before just getting me & the kids to do it for him - not looking forward to that.
So windy here too but the washing dried quickly.

Tired mum how awful for you all, I hope that Ds gets the help and support he needs and I hope there is support for you too xx
Redruby I understand your concern over the hpv vaccine . DD1 is due to have hers in a couple of weeks and we have had to think hard about it. DD2 has already had all 3 and was absolutely fine. I have weighed up the facts and have decided to go ahead with the vaccine.
back from waitrose, used the £5 off £30 voucher in the sun :j they have a lovely selection of xmas goodies and hampers ,I had to drag myself away.
tonights tea will be spanish style rice with chorizo and sherry vinigrette (sp)
DD2 is having a friend over so I am doing a cheese and tom pizza aswell as she only seems to eat pizza or burgers

Afternoon all
Hugs to Tired Mum, BB & PP.
I don't seem to find time to get on here much, I'm permanantly tired, I've been sleeping every evening & through the night & have just slept for 2 hours this afternoon, not like me at all.
I worked from 7:30 til 5 yesterday to try to catch up with the outstanding work, some bright spark put in work at 10am yesterday, required by 8am Monday, it's 15 hours of copying, does she expect me to work overnight? I need to persuade staff to work to more realistic deadlines, oh yes I can see the pigs flying past my window as I type!
Hubby & I are off to a retirement party tonight, I'm looking forward to it, I only hope I can stay awake.
Hugs Hester

Afternoon all :hello:
Have been MIA the last few days, just busy with work, etc. Have scanned the last few threads briefly and just want to send (((hugs))) to those who have had such a sad time lately.
OS stuff not completely forgotten - have managed to keep the BM going whenever needed and used the SC yesterday to cook a large batch of casserole which will be divided into portions and frozen today. Just had leftovers for lunch and have a meal plan done for the next two days. Tonight we are going to cheat though  and go out for a meal (using a voucher of course!).
On my kitchen table I have a giant courgette (baby marrow
) - just debating what to do with it as I'm not the world's greatest cook. Any simple ideas welcome! Next year I must check the veg patch more regularly so they don't get to this size
.
Right, must go and put the washing on. Hope everyone has a good afternoon.
