The Ouch in the Voucher

Can anyone help me? I had a PAYG mobile, and a healthy credit it on it.
Bought in the days when Orange were spinning the 'our vouchers never expire' line. I haven't used it lately and the sim has been closed. I rang Orange who told me that I'd breached the contract by not using the mobile every six months so I couldn't have the credit back. I understand they might not give me the number back, but keeping the credit just seems mean, does anyone know how I can persuade them to reimburse me? I presently have an orange contract phone.

Thanks

Angie

When my T-Mobile SIM expired, as I hadn't used it for 6 months, they asked me for £10 to reactivate it and I'd keep my credit. It was a spare SIM and there was hardly any credit on it, so I didn't bother reactivating it. Not sure why Orange can't do the same!
