Right, still in PJs but my to do list is making steady progress, and I have taken three packs of mince (1 beef, two lamb) out of the freezer. When they have defrosted I will batch cook some chili and a couple of shepherds pies for the coming couple of weeks, once they have defrosted.

I need to make the most of the food we have in - I do have a reasonable amount in the freezer, but it is all stuff that needs bits doing with it, eg I have sausagemeat, so could make a nice pie or pork and apple burgers etc, but I just have to get round to doing it.....

I've just attacked the hatstand - well, it has just attacked me more like......I think we have been having a "how many coats, scarves, hats, ski equipment bits can you have on one hatstand" competition.....so I have taken off everything that is too small, never gets worn, or is a fleece for a job OH left 9 years ago  Bits will get binned, washed and sold, or handed down as appropriate, and I now have the ability to hang stuff on there without it turning into a giant game of "buckaroo" :rotfl:

Also, I have had a quick look at my "aims for 2009" list that I made at the end of 2008......some of the big things are obviously not going to get done like replacing the windows, but I am pleased to see that several of the "lifestyle" elements have been steadily making progress throughout the year.....

Glad to see you are making progress with some of your aims. I know how much you have said about the messy home, etc over the course of your diaries. I guess I would think that it creates a low level stress all the time, I know it does me LOL

It is just always "there", and when you have as much stress as we do, you don't need any more....and even a little extra "low level" stress can make the difference between sanity and no sanity!

I have a long way to go with the decluttering/house but it is making definite progress, and that is the main thing - I certainly feel a lot more in control of it than I have done for the majority of my time on MSE, which will hopefully then free up some of my stress cells to become calm cells instead!

No, I'm not mad - just very grateful to you. Since I started reading your diaries I have joined the local mobile library and borrowed (ordered it online and picked it up this week) the "Why I am so disorganised?" book (it's on today's list to read chapter 1). I have also signed up to Quidco and my first cashback has tracked, I've been accepted for the Amazon credit card so will get £15 back on that AND I've started decluttering my home much to my cleaner's disgust as at the moment it is looking worse than when I started a few weeks ago!

Also got a free case of 6 bottles of wine through my bank - I wouldn't have gone for it before.

I am also planning to get to grips with free bingo and scratchies. I was wondering how I was going to pay for Christmas presents this year, but I am making good progress on finding the cash thanks to you.

Apart from the motivation it's given me, I have to say that reading your diaries is far more interesting than watching TV as they are very entertaining and make me laugh at times. Love hearing about your children's successes at skiing and also the life lessons that they are learning due to your situation.

So, thank you, thank you, thank you!

Hypno, I've never heard of anyone decluttering a coatstand! But thats *exactly* the sort of thing that creates the low level stress you're referring to, isn't it - can I find the hook, what's that, I don't want to put my clean fleece next to that grubby thing, whose is that, is that going to overbalance - well done you!

    Ocean - good for you!

Yes, Kc - it is "just one thing"......trouble is that my house is full of "it's just one thing" and all those "just one things" add up to complete chaos and stress, with no one being able to find anything they want, or sit down in relative order.

oceanspirit - be warned, I found "the book" quite emotional at times as I addressed my clutter issues......

I've set up a casino reload thing, which should bring me £18 in the week. Other than that, nothing moneysaving/making to report....SO...........

.........I have moved from the sofa into the dining room in order to shift into work mode. I am going to write one script before I come back onto MSE.....(although I may visit the bingo during my writing mission, lol)

but doesn't sorting out "just one thing" make you feel so much better? It does for me! and also I think it encourages you to keep other things in check... need to pass my theory on to DS though...

Hmm.....one script done - not my best, but perhaps I will revisit it later and tweak it a bit......if not, it will do for now:o

Off to make coffee, then I will do another script - I have to do at least two today, so if I can get that done, I can cross something else off my list :D

2nd script done, so although I should do more, I can cross it off my list.

Now got to make a start on putting together something for next week's workshop. I have printed off lots of notes, so just need to make something out of them .......simples :rotfl:
