iim very sure that bbc had the only decoder and then the spec was finalised, so they are now working on the silicon chip, i wouldnt buy that tv0

Yes the BBC have the encoder its the chip inside the boxes that do the work at the consumer end they be bog standard chips already put in many boxes its just a case of finalizing what goes in rather than making any custom built chips
For example Humax HDR already decode h.264 streams so it probably be adapted for the new freeview HD boxes when they come outDeleted_User wrote: »iim very sure that bbc had the only decoder and then the spec was finalised, so they are now working on the silicon chip, i wouldnt buy that tv0 -
no its not, its a different standard
its DVB-T2
MPEG 4
HD
yes some chips say they are DVB-T
MHEG4 but not hd, as mheg 4 is a different way of compressing the picture.
i promise you that tv will not work in the uk for freeview hd, yes it will in france but not here0 -
Is it really worth buying a new TV or even digibox for a couple of HD channels? If I didn't have Sky I'd be quite annoyed that my so called HDTV cannot receive HD freeview signals, what a con!0
