A lot of people seem to be 29, 39 or 49. There must be some statistical reason for this ;)

    Hello Dan29,

it is indeed a strange phenomenon ;). so, how's life in Cardiff/London ?

I'm wondering whether you've come across any camper vans parked in gardens with blow up reindeer ?

Makeup - sorry to hear you now have the hideous cold thing, it's a rotter but I always do the same thing when battling one :

    1000mg fizzy vitamin c tablet
lemon chunks with organic honey dissolved in hot water
    olbas oil for the nose
nurofen for the head & shivers

    Hope you feel better soon

    xx

ETA - good post Souk, I might be having another go when back in shape, I just dont have a big enough real life social data base to draw on to meet new people. I had some right oddballs when I did it, but to be honest I had a lot of funny moments too. I could have met a lot more people than I did, probably due to my own lack of confidence & low self esteem generally at that time. As long as you make sure you stay safe ( NEVER underestimate your own safety/warning instincts) & dont take it too seriously, it can be fun.

    Hello Dan29,

Hahaha hey Lula - the 29 is because my birthday's on the 29th of December, although I was 29 when I signed up here ... but just look at how long ago that was..!

It's been a really busy year, including a not-massively-successful attempt at internet dating, followed by an application for redundancy from my job which means I'll be leaving it, and Cardiff, in the next few months. Then I'll be heading (back) to London to seek my fame and fortune (again) where the streets are paved with [STRIKE]poop[/STRIKE] gold.

No, why, do you know of any? :p

They do say dog walking is the best way to meet someone... I'm not sure a rat on a lead would have the same affect though! lol

Rats are cool - my sister used to have four :) I think you'd get a lot of people talking to you if you took one for a walk around the local area..! Your rat might not particularly thank you for it though.

Morning sll, Lula I guess that's what I'm trying to say re the social network thing. IF you would like to meet someone but don't meet men/women at work, through friends or at any of the hobby things you go to.....then where the heck do you think you will meet them? You COULD meet them in the supermarket/bank/park aye but you could also see a UFO whilst out shopping, it's about as likely. Of course there is the old bar/club route but if you don't go to them that wont happen and if you do then it tends to be the same places, where Adonis may not happen to go! This is just another way of meeting people and you'll either like it or you wont. SIMPLES!
You are right about the self esteem thing too. It has to be good to start with as you do get a lot of rejection (if you see it that way).
I know it's not for everyone but do find it frustrating when people say they'd like to meet someone and then sit in very night complaining about it whilst wearing their Bridget Jones pyjamas!!!!!!!! I used to live with a girl like this and she did my head in.

Souk08 - I completely agree with your description of internet dating... But I'm slightly worried that your old housemate sounds worryingly like me!

i'll have to decline that kind offer i live too far away.

On the internet dating I've just had a message from FB to say a lad i didn't meet ages ago wants to be friends, I vaguely remember him, so think I'll trawl through his page, then block him.

Amatheya, we were repping at the time and in a resort full of men and she would get the Bridget's on and have a good old moan as I skipped out the door in my frock and heels. When she was being particularly annoying I would go outside and knock the door and say 'What's that, maybe it's your boyfriend. Oh no sorry it cant be as you wont leave the couch to go and find one.' She actually described the state of singledom as 'The time you spend between boyfriends'. Amazingly enough we still speak!

And if he/she ran off you'd have to wander the neighbourhood calling "Peanuts!", which might get some interesting responses ;)
