1 niece who is 5. Maybe I should take her to the park a few times and the cinema. Doesn't help she lives miles away

Perfect, she'll be shouting 'Uncle Mat' every 5 minutes and you'll look like a fabulous doting uncle who is comfortable with his sensitive side!

I do pass a lot of loonies, one time I was walking through one of the estates and this guy stopped me can't remember what he said but I heard someone shout don't talk to him love he's a peadophile, I looked round thinking who's he talking to, realised it was me and dragged the dog away really fast. I reckon I save money having a dog cos I do long walks on a weekend so am not out spending and having the heating on.
  • They do say dog walking is the best way to meet someone... I'm not sure a rat on a lead would have the same affect though! lol

The only thing my dog attracts is mud and loonies! Don't believe everything you hear.

Guys you need to be my distraction. I am desperate for a biscuit or something! There are none in the house thank god, but the temptation to make some hobnobs is growing (I did find the energy to make some dinner).

Come on Orangesmartie - you can do it!!!

Do you have anything you can do that is focussed work? Do you do needlework, knitting anything like that? Or sudoko?? Or go through your paperwork pile?

or how about painting your nails, you can't dip into the biscuit tin with wet polish!!!

Hope you feel better soon makeup *hugs*

I've got a friend who married someone they met on internet dating too and I have one or two good friends that I've met on there...

It's not that scary once you get used to it but there are a awfull lot of very odd people that you have to sift through. My friend was telling me today that one of the guys she'd been chatting to decided to tell her last night that he likes being photographed wearing womens underwear  she politely declined to meet him :rotfl:

that will be my ex husband then eh?
From chester, likes whisky, pretty boring, works in nhs.

hehehe thanks makeup :) I've just organised my banking and updated my spreadsheets. I'm watching Grey's Anatomy (which I lurve!) so hoping that keeps me distracted. The damn ads break my concentration.

I'm just so glad I don't have anything 'snacky' in the house.

Now now I couldn't hear all this talk of internet dating malarkey and not pop on. :D

SOME men online are nice, SOME are handsome,SOME are ugly and SOME are mental....a bit like folk you would meet in real life!!!!!!!!

The rejection thing well you just have to think 'Next' or 'I was happy and then I meet someone for two minutes who doesn't want to see me again and I feel suicidal, eh maybe it's me that's the mental!!!!' Seriously if you have enough confidence you will simply think that it's a numbers game and that at some point if you keep at it you will meet someone nice. They may not stay with you until retirement, they may not bear your children but if you can have a nice time and a few nights out along the way then that's not awful.

For me I just love the variety and the different chat. Since I've done it I've met:

A BMW salesperson, an dj/accountant who was sexy and had travelled the world, A civil servant (who i thought 'Don't let it be him, don't let it be him, it's him) , a rugby playing teacher who had travelled the world, a PE teacher, a lecturer who lived in the middle of nowhere and wanted me to dominate him (now i can be a bit bossy but ), a bisexual car salesman who's a very dear friend now, a few marrieds, a 20 year old student, a sensible type who still lived at home with his parents, a silver fox with two weans who I only saw once, a Navy guy, a pretty but dull boy who looks like Freddie Prince Jnr, a guy who told me he 'consulted to the food industry' but was a waiter, another pretty guy, a guy with hairy hands, a posh guy who left chewing gum in my hair..........and so many others!!!! All different. Different chat and experiences, some i saw once, some I saw lots, some I fancied but didn't fancy me, some vice versa. GET OUT THERE AND TRY IT.

You might hate it, you might get obsessed and check your emails a million times a day, you WILL get stood up at least once (Twice for me), you will get to the point of arranging a date and never hear again. You might meet someone and start seeing them and start doing the wedding march in your head and then find they're still on there looking but like everything else in life, you wont know until you try.
