Im torturing myself too ! Im pretty sure if I counted up the total cost of just my dresses Id be able to see where quite a large chunk of money was spent. I dont have the guts for that though since the light at the end of the CC and o/d tunnel is near.
Did you get the shoes ?0 -
No - not yet! I think I am going to go into Manchester tomorrow (I have some House of Fraser vouchers!) and then if I don't see anything in town will order them tomorrow
I see this as a good sign - the old, pre-DFW, me would have just got them anyway :rolleyes:Sometimes it's hard to walk in a single woman's shoes - that's why we need really special ones!Total debt @ Oct 2008: £29,226.42 Credit Card- £[STRIKE]7493.56[/STRIKE] - £7243.56Weightloss : 0/34lbs0 -
Hiya SAIDD'ers!
Noticed a couple of you were on diets and not having all that much fun calorie counting so I thought I'd post a few of my fave treats that I'll snack on. Should note, as a treat, you should only choose 1 or 2 of these, once a day. Just watch your other meals if your going to have these too. Restraint ladies!
Misslauren's list of naughty treats
Item Calories Fat
Cashews (around 12) 100 8g
(Good as a tummy filler between breakfast and lunch!)
Dark Choc (5 squares) 105 10g
(If you have a sweet tooth after dinner...)
5 Vitawheats, 1/4 Avacado, 1/2 Tomato 190 10g
(Great snack if you really want a good snack.. fills me right up!)
Chips 25-30g App. 150 10g
(If your going to be naughty, go for the small 'party packs')
Cheese - Cheddar (40g) 160 13g
(Cheddar is one of the worst for calories, so stick with the portion and others types will be even better for you)
Beer - 'Middie: 285ml' 105 -
Spirits - Average 1 shot 65 -
Wine - 160ml 120 -
(Because, well, sometimes we've just had one of those days.... )
Plus Random Trivia:
A full Large Egg (53g) has 80 calories and 6 grams of fat, however the egg white of same egg has only 15 calories and NO fat. So if you like your scrambled eggs or omelettes, try having one full egg and one egg white instead of two whole eggs. Your saving yourself 65 calories and 6 grams of fat.... which could go towards the treats above. And I hardly notice the difference

Morning all. Well , Im up and about and have decided that after a brekkie of bacon and sausages... (gonna ease myself back on to that detox gradually this week!) i am going to attempt to clear at least two bin bags from the pit that is my bedroom.. Read someones comment the other day about how on earth this stuff accumalates!! I have NO idea but its a never ending task!! Or is it that its such a s**t job to do .. we prob all start it ..and then get waylaid!!
Thanks Lula and sarah for your messages. Im ok. Just seem to have lost my way in fighting the money situation.. it was when the xmas festivities started and i think i just thought "time to enjoy myself and forgot money worries!" which of course is not good. Also my brothers gf was being her usual "nice" self and caused me lots of stress leading upto xmas.
But hey ho , all is not too bad i guess.. going to sit and do the new budget planner and make more effort this year... so going to be back on here watching for any tips you lot have on making headway

Hey lovelies,
glad to hear you're getting back on track Yargo & thanks for the tips Miss Lauren
I was up at 9 today & did some more decluttering, I've just done some grocery shopping & was very miffed to discover that Waitrose dont do hair dye  This was an emergency situation so I had to whizz up to the dreaded Tatco, fortunately as I only wanted the one item I scythed my way through the hoardes - didnt even miss a beat & dodged round all the trolleys full of tempting goodies - didnt even glance at the offers aisle just in side the door
On the way home I took all the carboard, plastic, shoes & clothes to the reycling bank so there is more room here now  now just need to tackle that hideous chores list ...0 -
Hi Yargo, good to hear you're getting back on track. As Lula said, we all have our ups and downs (and this debt busting tends to be a tough process!!) so don't beat yourself up about it.
Well done on the decluttering Lula! I've been doing the same, sort of...made £83.59 (to be exact) on fleabay tonight, selling stuff that I've been hoarding. Only 5 items, so not much of an impact, but it's a start and I've listed three more items of clothing already.
I know it's going back a while, but I also agree with the hermit situation! I've not had a nice out in months, mind. I've become a right scrooge since this debt busting thing began and begrudge spending money on nights out. Looking forwards to a boozy weekend in London in a couple of weeks, and a 'My Secret Kitchen' party at mine early Feb, followed by friend's engagement the night after. At last, a social life again!0 -
Hello all, just got back from Strictly Come Dancing, was fab:j:j:jWe had great seats and it was all very glamorous and very funny:j:j:j Quite an expensive day:rolleyes: but it was planned a while ago and I wasn't going to miss it, total with tickets, travel, food was about £80  so will have an extra frugal week to make up for it.
I weighed myself this morning and I haven't lost anything:rolleyes: I think I may have lost half a pound as it was hovering between the two before choosing the higher one:rolleyes: so I am hoping to lose 2lbs next week.
I have decided to send back two of the pairs of shoes I got just before Christmas as although the were quite a good bargain I don't love them and they are in the way, if I keep them they will get shoved to the back of the wardrobe never to be seen again.
Am now going to try to make another bag of books for the charity shop. I have thought about using Green metropolis but to be honest I am just not that organised- it is going to take all my mental faculties to pack up the shoes and get to the post office:o and I just want rid of them. I need my space back, plus I am trying to look at it as if I was moving out, I would have to take them to the charity shop then anyway, so I may as well make it easier for myself and do it in stages.
I will get this room looking nice! I would be a bit ashamed to invite someone back here at the moment so I have decided it must be spotless all the time to avoid any embarrassment;)Pay/save £20k in 2010 £5888.75/£20,000June Mini target 0/5lbs Total 23/40Ebay profit 2010: March £207:) April £95:) May £130:) June £0 Total £432:j0 -
