basically warranties are an extension to your statutory rights. uk law protects you for up to 6 years (5 for scotland) under the sale of goods act. if you have an issue you wish to resolve, contact consumers direct(the advice front of trading standards) and they will give you hep, advice, relevant law and even template letters to fill out to resolve your issue as under soga products must be of a reasonable quality so if you paid £3000 for a phone (yes they do exist) you would not expect it to break and fall apart after a year would you?.
