i know i have a lot of debt, but in the last year i have paid off £10k and saved for the wedding. i guess people could say it all should go on debt, but i have always overpaid minimum payments and never defaulted, so i don't feel as bad

Its not for others to say you are wrong - you have to make your own decisions and stand by them. I set up an emergency fund last year - which we've had to live on this year - some people would say I should have just paid it off debt and just dramatically cut back our standard of living... I think they would be wrong.... I am still happy with the amount I have paid off and we survived nearly 6 months of me being unemployed!Lemon_Tree wrote: »you've done exactly what i did in the year before my wedding, paid off a lot and saved for the wedding, so you'll never hear me saying you're doing wrong.
My sis just got married mse style - her OH has debts but she felt she could only address HIS debts once they were officially together. She's had to keep their banking separate unfortunately for now...Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

I'd be upset too! I was upset the other day - as I got a CC bill for OH for £250 which I wasn't expecting - although I did with hindsight know about £190 of itAchieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

i cant stay mad at him, just wish he would get out of the mentality of buy now pay later. he knew about his mOT, but didn't think to say to me that it was coming up so i could have budgeted. i now have another dilema. i have cleared 2 cards. they are now offering my 0%. Do i transfer his barclaycard onto them for the 0%. i just don't know if i want so much credit in my name. especially when he hasn't shown me he can be responsible with it .. what to what to doSTARTING BALANCE JAN 09 £47,400
