How much should I expect for selling scrap car?

After sorting out my cars MOT on Tuesday for £160, the cam belt on the car went yesterday!

It is an N reg Rover 416, fairly new tyres. How much should I expect to get for it if I sell it for scrap? I know it won't be very much at all, but would like to try and cover a teeny bit of the £160 I paid out for this week.

Thanks

if i was you i would take all the good bits off, seatbelts, radiator, starter, switches, lights, sensors etc etc etc sell them on ebay

then weigh the rest in for scrap

    Thanks

lots of money to be made, keys, ignition barrels, doors locks, aerials, internal blower motors, buttons, badges, boot lids, doors etc etc

If you have somewhere to keep the car i would be in no rush to scrap it, maybe put an ad on ebay for a 'wheelnut' inviting people to enquire about other bits. depending on your scrap yard and parking situ, they might even take the car without wheels! so they could be put on ebay for as long as it takes stuff to sell

I generally find with most car parts its best to list them at buy it now prices for 30 days at a time until they sell, view completed listings, price accordingly to what you see, take lots of clear pictures, offer collection (i always feel a bit safer if the part can be collected as no one would sell shifty bits if the buyer could come and see them first hand) and dont be in a rush to get rid of stuff (assuming you have the space to keep the valuable bits)

Sounds about right to me. £50 to £70?

Inactive, just how far away is you "local" breaker?, up here more than 80% have dissapeared over the last 5 years, 2nd hand cars must be just to cheap?
I like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.

Will the grammar and spelling police respect I do make grammatical errors, and have carp spelling, no need to remind me.;)

Always expect the unexpected:eek:and then you won't be dissapointed

One is 6 miles away, the other one is 8 miles, they both pay the same, both collect cars in that price.

Yeah, that's what I mean, not exactly local. Almost every one around me has beeb sold for building, ie housing, in the last 5 or 6 years.

Part of the Furniture Combo Breaker
price of scrap is about £90 a ton at this moment

so you should get around the £130ish mark for weighing it in
    Sealed pot challenger # 10
    1v100 £15/300
