spread 'lazy garlic ' on them and some paprika and roast in a hot oven until fairly crisp. Lovely with a jacket spud on guy fawkes night as its spicy and very tasy in a cold garden whislt watching the rockets go up.a fairly cheap and differnt meat instead of just sausages .Mostly grown ups appreciate them though leave to sausages to the litte ones.A nice glass of warming merlot goes well with them as well0

The magic ingredient is Lee Kum Kee Char Siu Sauce.

Slap a couple dessert spoons on, marinate for an hour or two and pop in the oven.
Leave to rest, then slice up and serve on a bed of fluffy white Thai jasmine rice with some blanched pak choi or choi sum!

I love pork belly. There are loads of chinese-style recipes if you have time on your hands. Otherwise just grill them hard (to crisp up the fat) along with a few chunks of apple. Serve with potatoes, veg and gravy. Or salad.0

Also saw this recipe in the telegraph a while back, which looks amazing. Shame I'm not allowed any of this saturated fat anymore...0

Hi viv,
Now that your thread has dropped down the board, I've added it to the main thread on pork belly to keep the recipes and ideas together.

Soy sauce, chinese five spice and honey rubbed all over the belly pork, a bit of salt on the crackling and slow roast for hours.
Cook a few casseroles or something, at the same time, whilst the oven is on.;)Felines are my favourite

When I make a cooked dinner I also make one for the following day which is kept in the fridge and i re-heat it in the microwave the following day. I made a dinner yesterday the meat was belly pork slices my ? should I remove the belly pork before putting the meal into the microwave and rely on the gravy heating it or will it be ok to leave it on the plate. ThanksLow Carb High Fat is the way forward I lost 80 lbs

Heat the whole thing in the microwave, including the meat. Add a drop of water to stop it drying out and cover it in cling film.0
