hi,
I have moved away from Eon, and still owe them about £215
I can not afford to pay it off in one go,
where I work we are on reduced pay and hours.
Now I have been paying every month what I can and have been incresing payments
BUT

get calls from Debt collectors every day and keep getting letters:mad:

Even

when I have told eon I will pay off the balance.

anyway to stop this harassment?

    Hi keith lard,

You need to set up an agreed payment arrangement, if the account has now been sent to a debt collector you will need to discuss this with them.

You don't say how long ago you moved away from E.ON if it wasn't too long, then you can call them to see if they will set up the arrangement and cancel the follow up with the debt collection company.

    Hope this helps.

I did contact Eon about repayments
They said I had six months to pay off the remaining balance, I said I could do it in 9 'or ' less but Eon said no.

I will contact them today, they have had payments ontime for the last 4 months so they might see that I can clear the balance.

Will post back if they do reply?

    p.s thanks for your reply!

    Hi,

You would normally be offered 3 months to pay a final balance, I agree with you I would call again as a payment arrangement is the only way to stop the debt letters.

Let me know if you need me further.

Send Eon and the debt collectors this letter.
I am writing in relation to the telephone calls that I have received from your company, which I deem to be personally harassing.

I have verbally requested that these stop, and for you to remove all telephone numbers from your records but you have refused to comply with my request.

I now require all further correspondence from your company to be made in writing only.

I am of the view that continued harassment of me by telephone, puts you in breach of Section 40 of the Administration of Justice Act 1970, and the Protection from Harassment Act 1997.

If you continue to harass me by telephone, you will also be in breach of the Communications Act (2003) s.127 and I will report you to OFCOM, Trading Standards and The Office of Fair Trading, meaning that you will be liable to a substantial fine.

Please treat this also as a formal complaint, and send me a copy of your company complaints procedure.

Be advised that any further telephone calls from your company will be recorded.

    Yours faithfully,

This will stop the calls, but you will continue to get letters.

Keep paying what you can and clear the balance asap. Just ignore the letters. Whilst you are paying something they will not proceed with any further action.

call consumer direct and make a complaint about eon how they are treating you. If its a closed bill they cant make you pay it over 3 months, the contract is with the supplier not the dca.

    Hi PNPSUKNET,

The outstanding balance is with E.ON, so if the customer changes supplier or moves house and a final bill is produced this will need to be paid.

In some cases we are happy to set up a payment arrangement to help the customer clear the balance. It would be passed to a dca if the customer did not pay.

  • Hi I wonder if you could help please, well over a year ago we had a representative from EON call around looking for business, my partner told the chap we were quite happy who we were with but said we would look at some info, he got my partner to sign the form which we thought at the time was for info and off he went. Well the next thing was we had a letter from our gas/elec company saying sorry u r leaving, we telephone them and they said we were leaving to go over to EON after explaining what had happened we started the process back to our company. We received a bill from EON and duly paid it thinking that was it. To our dismay on saturday morning we received in the post a bill for 275.00 from EON ( for over a year ago) bearing in mind we did the quickiest change over back possible we owe them that amount of money!!!!!! My partner telephoned EON as soon as possible and they were actually no help at all and were told to wait for a reply, today they telephoned saying that they had lost the account a year ago and will knock 96.00 off the bill but we are to pay the rest!!!!! we do no know what to do as not paying for something we have not recieved and was fraudently signed into in the first place. Has anyone else had this problem, i feel like going to the papers with it all.

    Kind regards
    claire

    Hi Claire,

Is this bill from E.ON a final bill from when we did supply you?

The bill should show you the dates you are being charged for and how long this covers.

You say your preferred supplier took back the supply straight away, did they mention an erroneous transfer to you? This is where they take back the supply as we have taken it in error or where you have been miss sold.

Sorry for all the questions, it will just help establish what happened :o.

  • Thanks Helena

The bill runs from august 14 2008 to november 5 2008

No other correspondance had been made from then up until now.
As this was such a long time ago i have no idea about the erroneous transfer but my partner on countless occasions had contacted your company to request immediate transfer back as the transfer should never have taken place .
He was informed by e-on that the transfer was legitimate as he had signed , but as i said we were only after information and were fraudulently transferred due to misrepresentation of information that the representative had provided .

He fully understood that we were purely after an information pack and yet he still supplied a contract to transfer.
