Hi everyone
My new laptop has been delivered to my old address in Manchester despite me changing the order address with apple twice before delivary. They have refunded me £50 to cover delivery costs..
My ex flatmate signed for the laptop but will not take it to postoffice/dhl point..Ive looked at parcelforce collecting it and it does come under £50 fully insured thanks to a money saving code (New gives 15% of parcel force deliveries) Parcel force only collect between 9-6 and my flatmate wont be in. I cant physically get to Manchester either..
Im stuck for ideas..I live 15mins walk from Manchester apple store so do you think they could have someone come to collect it Saturday Morning?
The rebate needs to be claimed by the 7th October and times ticking..

Please tell me if I'm being thick, but I haven't a clue what you're trying to ask us about. If it's just me, I blame it on work and lack of sleep.0

You posted about this before, and seemed to think £50 was enough to get you to Manchester and back.0

Didn't you say your old flats had a concierge?
Leave it with him/her and get Parcelforce (or another courier) to collect it from there.Im stuck for ideas..I live 15mins walk from Manchester apple store so do you think they could have someone come to collect it Saturday Morning?
Presumably you mean you used to live 15 mins walk from Manchester Apple store.0 -
So Apple made a mistake, they refunded you £50 to cover your costs... get a bus/taxi and go and pick it up. Problem solved.
Or use a cheap courier like Parcel2Go: http://www.parcel2go.com/0 -

Update: I rang up apple customer service and told them the situation. The assistant was very rude and actually said "what do you want me to do about it?" I told them I wanted to make a formal complaint and was passed on to a supervisor.
It turned out that they had recredited my account £40 not the £50 they promised. After more winging on my part they agreed to pay me an additional £30 bringing the total to £70.
Apple has had the worst customer service I have come across. I really had to fight to get recredited and they would have been more then happy for me to be out of pocket. Other companies go out of their way to keep a customer happy and I felt because they have recieved their money they didnt care.
The main issue with the situation is that my ex flatmate is being very unhelpful despite signing for the package. Getting the parcel off her is the difficult part as shes never in and wont take it to a dhl service point or the post office for me.
The conceirge is going to take it off her on Saturday Morning and parcel force will collect it off him Monday Morning.. All in all its going to cost £50.00 ( 48 hr delievery plus 15% discount included so the cheapest price I can get) Because its two parcels, a macbook and a ipod touch plus the insurance is £24 because the parcels are worth £1,0000 -

No in fact, a lot of companies would have done absolutely nothing. You gave them the wrong address. They tried to change it for you, but obviously it was too late. Apple is a big company. Products leave their facility, shipping labels are printed and attached, and the product is loaded onto pallets for delivery. Obviously it was too late in the process to change; Apple ship things out pretty quickly.
Apple have now given you a total of £70 in order to go get your laptop back, which you had shipped to the wrong address. This is your mistake, not Apple's. They aren't responsible for making sure you use the correct address. Despite this, they have given you money in order to enable you to obtain your laptop.
You now have two threads on here moaning about the situation. There are lots of suggestions for you, but you appear to want someone else to sort the problem out for you. Well, this is your problem, so sort it out. Go get your laptop and stop whining about it. Steve Jobs isn't going to fly over from California and collect your laptop for you.
And while you're at it, be thankful you purchased it from a company that cares enough about its customers' satisfaction, it will pay out of its own pocket, when they are under no obligation to do so, in order to correct a customer's mistake.
I'm sorry if you think I'm being harsh, but it is what it is. You gave them the wrong address, it was subsequently delivered to the wrong address, and Apple have given you money to go and get it.
So, go get it. Or pay someone else to get it. Moaning isn't going to get your laptop back.0 -

Reading this and the other thread, I think I now know why the ex-flatmate was so unwilling to make any effort to help the OP.0
