A friend recommended utility warehouse and after looking at current thread just appears like a three way argument.

So is it as simple as all bills become one bill and you get cashback from their pre paid card paid to the bill. Sounds too easy!! Is it?

Well, I asked the question on the other thread, for me it is too expensive, I'm on a 3 rate electric meter (UW don't support it) and IGT for gas (seems they dont support that either) I don't shop at Sainsburys & loading a Prepay card to use to get upto 5% back seems a bit awkward. I get 2% for using my B'Card already.

I think you can get cheaper if you shop around, and barter a bit. UW seems complex and is a selling scheme after all.
These are my thoughts and no one else's, so like any public forum advice - check it out before entering into contracts or spending your hard earned cash!

I don't know everything, however I do try to point people in the right direction but at the end of the day you can only ever help yourself!

Like I said earlier, UW is not for everybody, and clearly isn't for you, hippey (talking of complex, a 3 rate electrc meter?? :D). My point is it's an alternative to the Big 6 and offers advantages they can't (or won't!) offer. On the 'bare' prices they can't compete with the one-off online tariffs offered by the Big 6. BUT, if your retail spend fits the cashback card criteria, as I have proved, your bills can be way cheaper than with any other supplier! I note no-one has attempted to beat my £29 price for gas/electric/phone/bb/calls. And not sure what I have done to get this amazing price could be described as 'complicated' - all I have done is pay for my shopping on the UW card instead of my normal debit card?

He says he is and I am pleased to see that you are happy at his good fortune. Not only do many others, Carmine and myself save money by being customers of Utility Warehouse, he is also in profit on his shares. I can also earn money by being an independent distributor.

The bottom line is that UW have just about the most expensive gas and Electricity in UK. Check any comparison network to confirm.

If you really must have their cash card, sort out which service costs you least and get UW to provide that and you get a cashcard.

There is absolutely no point in paying £hundreds more for your gas and electricity just to get a cash card.

Someone with average consumption in my region (Yorkshire) joining UW today and taking all 4 services would pay £1317 for the year. For that sum you would get:

    20500 Gas
    3300 Electric
    Phone Line Rental
    ALL calls 24/7 (including 01, 02, 03, 0845/0870 and some International destinations)
    Up to 24mb Broadband
    40gb download limit
    Monthly paper bill
Option to input your meter readings at the end of each month and pay for just that exact usage (no more debits or credits on your G&E account)
Guaranteed UK-based call centre (importantly housed in the same building as the management team)
All on one fully itemised bill and payable by one DD.

Of course, this is without taking into account the discounts offered by using the cashback card but is a competitive price in the marketplace anyway. (I would get this package for approx £834 for the year with my use of the cashback card. Importantly the cashback card is a pre-paid card as opposed to a credit card - no credit scoring and no chance of spending money you haven't got.

Like I said before, UW is an interesting alternative to the Big 6 - it will suit some people (definitely suits me!) but won't suit others (Cardew, for instance).

No. The bottom line is the bottom line. Many people can pay Utility Warehouse less for their utilities than they would to any other company in the right circumstances.

I am an independent distributor with Utility Warehouse and the views I express may not be shared by the company.

3 Rate ain't complicated, infact very simple, and totally accurate unlike the UK's wonderful legacy of dumb meters at the moment.

My point was only to show it wasn't for everyone, indeed, I even had a card through my door last weekend with someone trying to sell UW products. I would agree though that any compition is good and I'm sure UW is a good business for the distributors, and those it suits. Like any product, you have to look at all the options.

Yep, 35p and there is also a monthly fee of £2. I still spend more than enough at Sainsbugs every month to make it worth my while. I decided to have it loaded automatically when it dropped below £100. That's because I'm lazy. No doubt what I should do, is to work out roughly how much I am going to spend on a big shopping load and load it before I go shopping. But that does not suit the way I like to go about my life. I walk to work and pick up bits and bobs on my way home and that means lots of little bits during the week as well as a Saturday main shop. I also make sure that I spend £50 at Sainsbury's store before I go to their garage and fill up. That way 5% of my diesel spend is also put against my utilities bill. Not forgetting that occasionally they will also give one 5p off a litre at the pump if that £50 is spent.
