Lloyds TSB Advance Card Now Charging For BT's?

Options
I applied for a Lloyds TSB Advance card before Xmas. Received the form to sign and it appears that for all BT's they will be charging a fee of 2%. I checked the T&C today and it looks as if this is the case.

Anyone else done a BT to them and been charged 2%?
Waddle you do eh?

  • I agree with Mr B. I wasn't charged. :) Very important to carefully look at your own T&C's ...

I saw that in the t&c's on the web so before I applied I phoned them to see if that was the case. They assured me that if the bt is done within the first six weeks there would be no fee. I really hope that's the case.
The reason people don't move right down inside the carriage is that there's nothing to hold onto when you're in the middle.

Mine is Lloyds Platinum. Don't know how different they are. I got mine end of November. Did the BT immediately and wasn't charged, as again it had to be done within the first 6 weeks.

Thanks for the information. My Advance card arived today and you were correct there is no charge on BT's done in the first six weeks after the card is opened.

I originally had a Platinum card with 9 mths 0% on it. I transferred the remaining balance off that to another 0% card. I was told by LLoydsTSB that they would close the Platinum and transfer any outstanding balance to the Advance card. I'd also get the same credit limit. But they didn't do that. I've still got my Platinum card with a £6.5k credit limit and an Advance card with £8K credit limit.

Have you considered getting an Egg Card? Would thoroughly recommend one, if you don't have one already. Transfer up to your maximum credit limit to your current account and then on to a high interest savings account. Then when a debt appears on the Egg card, SBT your Platinum Card limit of £6.5k, since you now still have it. Next stage transfer that £6.5K to Egg and on to your stooz pot. Then start the process all over again with your Advance Card limit of £8K, via Egg to savings account.
