Ripped off on an exhaust?
Own a MINI cooper 03 plate, hole in back box and received a quote for 495 quid!
Know nothing about cars but I'm sure this is a quote for a whole system and not just a back box.
I didn't ask as it was a quote left on my phone but he has seen my car so
I thought it would be about 160...
oh well, best start phoning around

I wouldn't be too happy either, my Daughters Mazda 323, year 2000 W Reg. has just had it's first replacement exhaust, so 9 years and 6 months, it still has the original battery as well.0 -
Why? It's a British-built car, I'm amazed it has lasted this long. Seriously, 6 years isn't too bad.hewhoisnotintheknow wrote: »i would be angry if i had paid that much for a mini and it was not a stainless exhaust0 -
Exhaust wear is more dependant on the use of the car than age. Cars with high mileages will tend to go longer between exhaust replacements as it stays hot and reducing corosion - short stop starts will wear it quickly0

Agree completely - I needed pretty much a whole exhaust system on my car - it was a few years ago now, car was under two years old, but I had to do a lot of travelling abroad and it just sat around not being used .... it was rotten and had to be replaced.
I don't do alot of mileage now - and already am aware that the poor car needs a good run (different car now tho..
) and think my battery is getting weak too. Genie

Simply becuase I've just posted on a Megane thread I would say "should have gone to Renault". The Megane gets a stainless system as standard.
Anyone know if other manufacturers do this now??
I like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.
Will the grammar and spelling police respect I do make grammatical errors, and have carp spelling, no need to remind me.;)
