Quick Contract Question??!!

Hi all
I just have a quick question which I could do with answering if anyone could help??
Here's the scenario:
Ive been with Vodafone for 12 years (customer loyalty or what)...anyway since May this year Ive had 5 phones from them (all of which havent worked in some shape or form.)
It started when I lost my phone back in May and as I have the insurance with them they sent me a refurbed phone, anyway this didnt work so they sent me another refurb.....which (youve guessed it) didnt work!! In the end they sent me a brand new phone in June (after endless phonecalls and threats to leave).
Ok so all was good with this phone until 3 weeks ago, when it just stopped working for some reason (software error) so I sent it back, they repaired it and sent it back STILL NOT WORKING!!!
Anyway so today I have received another replacement phone (refurbed again).
I just think that having been with them for 12 year and spending on average between 50-60 per month they could maybe treat me a little better and at £7 per month over 12 years for insurance, a new phone would be nice dont you think??
Anyway my point of this message was not just to rant, but as I am on an 18 month contract (which I had to renew to get my new phone in June) I am not really in a position to leave them really..........however what I dont understand is how I am tied into this contract when I havent actually signed anything.
Would I be able to just cancel my DD, send back the phone and leave.............how does this work please??
Many thanks
SnS x

Some debts are fun when you are acquiring them, but none are fun when you set about retiring them!!!
It's amazing how fast later comes when you buy now!!!!

You state you renewed your contract in June to get a new phone, that would be your renewal/upgrade.
I believe you only need to sign for new contracts, although that can be a simple check box if doing it on-line.
As you are in a contract you cannot just leave without paying the remainder of the contract.
With regards to the phone breaking, just keep on at them.
*sorry for quick reply, phone was ringingAlthough no trees were harmed during the creation of this post, a large number of electrons were greatly inconvenienced.
There are two ways of constructing a software design: One way is to make it so simple that there are obviously no deficiencies, and the other way is to make it so complicated that there are no obvious deficiencies0 -
By using the service you're deemed to have accepted the contract.
Cancelling the DD will just get you a debt collector knocking on your door in a few months and your credit file wrecked for the next 6 years, not a good idea.
They would say you've still access to the network as you can put the sim in any phone you like and still use the service. . .0 -

Yes, do not cancel. That is a bad idea, and should only be done usually in agreement with the operator/trading standards or after professional legal advice.Although no trees were harmed during the creation of this post, a large number of electrons were greatly inconvenienced.

Hi SkintnScared
Having a phone that isn't working properly always makes life more difficult.
It's unfortunate that you have had the same problem several times with your phones.
If you send me an email from here with WRT135 in the subject line I can look into some options for you to resolve this. Make sure when you email to include your details and a link to this thread so we know what's happened.
Speak to you soon
