Always been a 'November payday' person and then because there are birthdays in December don't really get into it properly until then.

That said, I do make a lot of stuff, depends on my mood. Have done cross stitch fridge magnets and coasters one year, another year jewelry, soaps and of course sweets and biscuits. I found a website with lots of lovely cellophane bags which make even the simplest gift look good. People appreciate the thought that goes into stuff.

Poet123 - This is my first year with Neices and Nephews but we've decided not to buy presents as we can see it getting waaaay expensive in the future. Now we just have to stick to it! Sounds a bit Scrooge but will be better in the long run.

Depends on the ages, my sister has 2 boys and so does my brother so they went through a phase known as 'the ritual exchange of boxes of Lego!' after which they agreed to not buy for each other's children. Now we are going through the 'exchange of Itunes vouchers' phase:rotfl:

  • gilligansyle - I like those phases! Was thinking perhaps instead of buying for the parents, I could just buy for the kids?
What was this website with the cellophane?

Moneytroubles - I like the sound of colour themed hampers!! :)

  • I'm loving the idea of a hamper - does anyone know where i can get any empty one from for a good price?

Also a link to the cellophane site would be good if possible.
  • I found this.. Dont know how reasonable it is compared to other places...

http://www.floristandcraftsupplies.co.uk/ This has cellophane and ribbon etc on it. Will look for more.
