alternative fuel for diesel cars

LPG is a safer alternative if you don't want to drive around in an old car -- the newer engines won't appreciate being run on chip fat.

Theres a link on here for a landcruiser that was run on veg oil since 3 years old (2005 model) and I'm currently looking at twin tanking a common rail diesel.
LPG ing a diesel would bring some savings, but it would probably take forever to recoupe the initial costs.

It may be cheap to make, but you must still pay customs the same amount of tax you pay on commercial petrol or deisel. Your running costs will increase due to the damage you will do to your engine.

Is utterly wrong. Any private person can manufacture 2500 litres per year for their own use without declaring it or paying any duty. For most cars that would do over 27,000 miles per year based on 50MPG.

In many cases, cars run BETTER on veggie oil and there's no damage done.

HOWEVER there are some cars that must never be run on Veggie oil, usually the latest generation of common rail diesels. The handbook of the car should state what the maximum percentage of biodiesel is. On my MK3 Mondeo TDCi its 5% which makes it pointless however my parents MK2 Mondeo can run on 100% veggie oil.

Yep, but in 2006 Raymond was right lol.

    Apart from the engine damage.
