I went to my Local which is the big one at the RICOH in Cov, signs up absolutely eveywhere, went to my usual scan happy SA, who before I'd even put my shopping on informed me policy had changed, she said they had been told to accept them until 3pm Friday, I am absolutely gutted, as a redundant mum of 3 I have been using coupons for all my nappies, and food stuff for months it has been such a hugh help to us financially and now I think until I find another job we are going to really struggle, I only wish they'd have given us a bit of notice at leats then i could have used up the £150 worth that I have been saving towards my Christmas shop.

Me too, Miss Piggin. I have put aside around £150 of coupons to put towards getting some xmas pressies. Wanted to get a computer game for DS and a pressie for my sister, my brother and a neighbour etc, as well as some xmas shopping.

Gutted is the only way to describe how I feel.icon9.gif

SD :- its my opinion with regards to Welshwoofs saying we lots are abusive/etc.

    .

I have never said "we lots are abusive" or even expressed the opinion I think you are actually trying to convey in the phrase quoted. I said that a lot of the bitter and abusive comments I had read didn't make for attractive reading - there is a distinct difference in meaning there.

There were most certainly some comments in this thread which were repugnant, though I note they have all gone (moved or deleted, who knows) and I stand by my opinion that Martin telling the off-line general public about this loophole is no reason to resort to personal abuse.

PERSONAL DETAILS AND THE OFFERING OF ITEMS FOR SALE/TRADE/EXCHANGE/SWAP/GIFTS

Please refrain from requesting the exchange of personal details either on the forum, via PM or email; particularly for the purposes of selling/trading/exchanging/swapping or giving as gifts. This includes posting links to your ebay auctions, or other forms of advertising.

If someone appears to be selling items on the board it may be deleted by the board guides/forum team. The aim is to protect site users as however honourable the intention, your safety is paramount

Wasn't actually aware that I asked for any ones details or for any of the above for that matter - it was merely an idea as to how best we might manage the present situation and to continue some degree of saving money via CORRECT & LEGITIMATE use of mocs.

do you know i thought i was going mad for a minuite, couldnt find your post or mine, how odd that they were removed:confused:

Yes, very odd. I had to look twice to make sure that I too wasn't imagining things. Didn't actually think there was anything wrong/controversial/could be misinterpreted or whatever - but there you are.

I've think I've worked out my shopping regime for the next few weeks:icon7.gif

Monday - top up shop - Morrisons/Sainsbury's (on my way back from evening class)
Thursday - main shop - ASDA (on way back from visiting)
Saturday - top up shop ASDA/Sainsbury's (before shopping in town - must go early as it was really busy in ASDA this week).
Sundays - we have local famers markets, which can be quite expensive but it's a nice way to spend an hour and if you time it right you can pick up a few bargains (although it can be a bit like the queue for school dinners - if you're at the back there's either loads left so you get bigger helpings or they're running out so you get bog-all!)

I have also discovered that the Co-op can have some quite good bargains - and they will take Luncheon Vouchers, so I will use them for small top-ups wherever possible.

I will get any Tesco bargains from the store that isn't quite as close to me, when I visit family, as that store was quite civilised about coupon acceptance whereas the one nearest to me was a major hassel every time I shopped until the last week or two.

Absolute emergencies (eg 11pm out of toilet rolls, no newspaper, leaves etc, neighbours in bed - I won't go on
:o) - I will probably have to use my nearest Tesco :( as it is 24hours, but that would be all I would buy - unless I spotted an absolutely amazing bargain)

Never been to Lidle, Aldi, Netto etc (heard stories of long queues, and not many staff o
n:eek:) but we also have them not too far away, so may give them a try over the coming weeks.

On another note, I have just filled in a regular survey where I have to state where I do my main and top up shops. Up till now I have always ticked Tesco as my main shop - I have now changed it to ASDA;).

  • Has anybody actually used the £5 Waitrose voucher in T's yet? I was told by a friend yesterday that she had been told T's aren't taking them. Anybody know anything otherwise?
