Orange and non DD Charges
I have 2 contract phones with Orange. They take the payment in one go to settle my account.
I dont pay this on DD (I arent going into the reasons why) so they charge me £2.99 for this privilege.
This I dont mind so much, even though I do kinda begrudge it. What I do begrudge is that they charge me twice for this. They say that because I have 2 phones, this is classed as two bills. I have one account number with them. I cant see how this can be right?
Am I being unfairly charged, or should I just accept it?

It is in the T&C's and it's £3.50 (at 17.5% VAT) per account.
they put that price because there is a much higher charge than for DD payments.
Expensive, yes (but consider some companies like Virgin Media charge £5+ for non-DD) especially if you have 2 charges. Obviously a DD would save you money if you're able to set one up, but i understand it's not an option for everyone.

I only have one account though. 2 phones on one account, with one account number. Thats my query, not the fact that I have to pay it - as I know I have to pay it at least once, but surely not twice? As at End of June 2014

You may want to check the T&Cs carefully, but I would have thought the logical thing would be to have one payment per account.
If they don't mention that it's one payment per phone, I'd challenge it.Squirrel! If I tell you who I work for, I'm not allowed to help you. If I don't say, then I can help you with questions and fixing products. Regardless, there's still no secret EU law.
