It sounds fab, we didn't go in the end but gave tickets to friends who are STILL there voluntarily helping with recycling/ cleaning/ picking fag butts out of the grass.Membre Of Teh Misspleing Culb0

Hi Metherer,
Can you tell me what the clothing stalls were like and what kind of things people were buying? I run a fair trade fashion company, so I was thinking of taking part next year. My stuff is quite chic and smart compared with all the hippy, patchwork, tie dye garb and at most of the other green/environmental shows I've done most people seem to be of the hippy strain!0 -
Hi there, just to chip in i thought the event was fab (as ever) and the comment about transport is a bit unfair i thought - i went down by coach, and there was also the option of getting a laid on big red bus from the nearest train station. not sure what else they could have done? the whole emphasis on recycling this year was really good, i managed to get my landfill down to about a handful, which really made me think about how much could be reduced, reused or recycled back in the big smoke!
i think the fair trade clothes would go down ok - last year i heard a lot of traders complaining about not doing such good business, but this year as the festival as a whole seemed much bigger, i think they did ok.
highlight for me - seeing a band of teenagers playing an excellent version of 'teenage kicks' from inside a disabled loo.... wonderfully weird!"The Earth provides enough to satisfy every man's need, but not every man's greed" - Ghandi0 -
those of you that have been, how did you actually spend your time, just chilling out or watching things or participating in workshops etc? would be interested in knowing. I REALLY want to go next yearCarolbee0

Hi again
Sorry for the delay in replying, life just too hectic!
I mainly spent my time wandering around from field to field, catching a bit of this and a bit of that. My DH spent pretty much a whole day in various talks. Other than that, we just chilled and went with the flow.
Re the clothing idea, go for it. A lot of it was the hippy tie die so yours would go down well as a contrast. I'm thinking of getting a friend of mine to run up some in plus sizes, as I didn't find a thing to wear.
And yes, it was my honeymoon. And a jolly good one it was too!
MethererNot heavily in debt, but still trying to sort things out.

thanks for the info, I might looking into having a stall there as well, we make jewellery, only as a sideline - have so called proper jobs!
I suppose we are all looking for different things out of it, I'm always up for finding out about something new!Carolbee0 -
Plus size fair trade clothing is something i've always thought of as a gap in the market..
I'll never forget going to Glastonbury with friends who got the schedule when we arrived, and then wrote a whole itinerary, including when they would eat, what bands they would see, when to visit 'each area', when to arrange to meet other friends , etc etc, it was discarded within a couple of hours..lol..Membre Of Teh Misspleing Culb0 -
