http://www.express.co.uk/posts/view/130905/House-prices-up-by-10-000-in-6-months-The housing market rally continues unabated, pushing property prices up £57 a day, research showed yesterday.
The average UK home is worth £10,000 more than just six months ago, with a typical three-bedroom semi now fetching £203,622.
Experts said the rise proved economic “prophets of doom” wrong – and said a triple-whammy of good news showed the slump was over.
The hat-trick of positive reports was greeted with delight by property experts. Francis Ghiloni, commercial director of website realpricecomparison.com, said: “The prophets of doom have been proved wrong and confidence is starting to return to the housing market.
“With house prices rising, people who bought at the peak of the market and were stuck in negative equity can start sleeping at night again.”
Stuart Law, chief executive of property investment company Assetz, said: “All this latest positive market data should convince any remaining pessimists that the market has entered into a period of stability at the very least and, more likely, sustained recovery.”
Yet more good news for the housing market. The average house up around £10K in just 6 months. (more according to Nationwide)
Shame so many gamblers waiting for further falls have missed out on so much though, when will they learn that trying to time markets is an excercise in futility?

stuart law.......need i say moreIt is nice to see the value of your house going up'' Why ?
Unless you are planning to sell up and not live anywhere, I can;t see the advantage.
If you are planning to upsize the new house will cost more.
If you are planning to downsize your new house will cost more than it should
If you are trying to buy your first house its almost impossible.0 -
Unless your house is an investment then price increases or falls are arbitrary - in Feb I owned 1 house, now I own 1 house - neither an increase nor a decrease as far as I can see.I think....0
-
I save a bit more than that each day - but then my house seems to be up by 50k since Feb as well...
Indeed.
Thats only the average house price increase.
Those on higher incomes, able to save more, will also typically be looking at a more expensive house,, that has appreciated far more.
So would someone like you be able to save 50K since february?“The great enemy of the truth is very often not the lie – deliberate, contrived, and dishonest – but the myth, persistent, persuasive, and unrealistic.

Hallelujah!
Closer to a second crash. A lot of people don't even MAKE £57 a day, let alone save it, hence a teeny weeny problem there hamish dear boy.
Daily mail and the express in one day Hamish? Are your sources becoming limited?
Anyway, 208k eh? Need a combined salary of 58k plus a 20k deposit for that average home according to the HSB fandabidoo product you seemed to like so much earlier.0
