Why do BT staff lie to their customers

I recently migrated to O2 broadband. I have had a TalkTalk landline for about a year, and O2 recognised it as a 'BT line' without any problems. TT are unbundled on my exchange.

As Macman has said there is no problem having a TalkTalk landline and O2 broadband. The only time this would not be possible is if you have TalkTalk LLU services and want to move only part of the service. LLU is provided by removing the line from BTs network in the exchange and connecting it to TalkTalk equipment which means providers that require a BT service can not supply broadband. For standard line rental customers this does not pose a problem as TalkTalk rent the line from BT on behalf of the customer.
