I found the experience bad enough as it was.
Having calmed down I started to wonder -
I believe there are software systems which analyse speech patterns, like lie-detectors.
Are councils using them for claims calls?
Several times she asked me the same question as if I was answering but not using the words she 'needed'.0 -
lots of ill people are housebound and wouldn't be able to visit an office, too ill to use a phone or a computer - it's a really bad idea.0

I think It's disgusting to make people use phones...some people don't even own one!...They just 'assume' that you have a phone.
What about people that hate using phones, like the ones with speech impediments?0 -

The vast majority will make their claims over the phone, because it is generally quicker and easier, choice is still important though.0 -

Textphones? It can take hours to complete forms using a textphone (and I'm not sure what you mean by "and the like" as textphones are usually the only choice).0
