I can't understand why you think that retuning your box will have any effect on the signal broadcast by the TV company!

because my freeview is built in to my tv, (and my tv tells me when a new software for the tv is released) as like a pc programme would tell you when it needs updating and so you udate and it knows that, i just thought maybe the tv tuner would do the same and then know when it had been retuned.blimey sorry everyone for maybe hoping i could get rid of the message and tried a few retunes to do so!
please dont loose sleep worrying.

OH followed all the instructions and for a few days -on and off- we got channel five(which we've never been bothered about and could live without) and all the others but for some reason today it just isn't playing.........OH isn't that techno minded with all this and now has disconnected the freeview box and gone back to 'normal' tele.
I've for a 'help' number to ring but I don't think he can be bothered anymore today..........he's not well as it is so can't cope with it.
I think on Monday we'll end up getting the chap out from the local tv shop.
