I'm starting my second year next week too - I'm a bit worried as I've got so much other stuff going on, I'm determined to get through it though!

I think it helps if you are studying a subject that interests you - I mean that my mum did an OU degree in maths and she loved studying so much as she's really into maths. I did a 60 point this year, just submitted my ECA, and I hated the course. Saying that, I managed to get very decent marks - 80 odd percents - and didn't studying for weeks at a time! It depends on your course as well, one of my TMA's was to write about how what I thought of the course and my study methods!

Drawing up a study plan and sticking to it is good advice, I am now at college doing an access course and I use a study plan, but it helps that I love the subjects that I am studying so studying isn't a chore, if you see what I mean - i want to come home and dive into my books and learn!
