Lump on cat-possibly caused by boosters???

Well it still could be absolutely anything, love ... I know it isn't very reassuring for you right now to hear that *hugs* ... but truth is the white blood cells can be high if the cat has an injury of some kind or an infection.
The white blood cells are the ones which fight something which shouldn't be there, so it could even be something like a virus ...
There are just so many things that can cause it and I know you are thinking "yeah, it's alright people telling me not to worry" but until you know for certain what it is, you could be worrying unnecessarily.
I once had a blood test and the level of white cells were raised but I had a really heavy cold at the time, so my body was kicking in and trying to fight that off ... so just keep your fingers crossed and let's hope it is something and nothing *S*
They'll probably need to do more tests to try and narrow down what it is though ... but you're better knowing than worrying what it might or might not be ... just see what tomorrow brings.0 -
Just got back from vets and they preformed more tests, they have done a 2nd blood test, with some extra tests involved too, depending upon what these tests show up they are talking about scanning/x-rays and possibly a needle biopsy. I think they are trying to hold off on these extra tests if possible, as the cat suffers great stress at the vets (know this is true to a point of most animals, but even the vet has commented on how fast her breathing and heartbeat is when she is there.) They also checked for any obvious signs of injury or infection of which there were none, no temperature, no signs of cold etc, no injuries or wounds that are visable, apart from this lump, she seems fine, eating well, playing, miowing alot as normal!
Guess we'll no more after the weekend, although we're under strict instruction to take her in before then if anything changes etc.
Thank you to everyone for your kind words of support.0
