Sorry for butting in SM and Grandma (feel free to tell me to butt out again!:D) but do you live that far away from each other? I just love seeing things find a new home instead of landfill...
Sounds like you deserve a relaxing weekend Lynda! OH and I were considering living off a phD earlier this year, reckon it's doable...
Hope the flat can be sorted one way of the other soon x
We have already been in touch with each other:rotfl:
I am certain My mother was right when she was always saying "if you do something for someone else it will come back to you,not always in the same form but in a way you need." We gave an aquaintance something earlier this week and she was close to tears because apart from a few chats over several months we do not know her at all but she asked my hubby's opinion on something and he said I have a brand new one of those you can have. It had been stored on our wardrobe as we did'nt need it and was waiting for just such an opportunity.0 -
Yae, was hoping you'd say that Grandma! MSE rules! :T
I'm thinking of living on a maternity budget to get us prepared for that time (if/when it hopefully comes) and saving the extra money to help us out. What would SMP be anyone?
ETA: wonderful story Grandma, I believe this entirely too.The 1,000 Day Challenge:Feb 16, 2016500/30,000

Glad DS is safe Shaz,xx accidents on the motorway can be really scary even when you get out okay, I can vouch for that after my escapade in June.
Just having a quick cuppa before heading back down to run a xmas fayre withthe oldies, have been marmalading, wrapping gift sets, setting out stalls, making mince pies etc etc since early this morning and just about k*ackered. Another couple of hours and it will all be over with for another year, bit sad to think this will be the last time I do this with them though.0 -

Taken me til today to talk about ds despite him being unscathed .....thanks for all the kind words . I am only thankful it was late at night and not too many cars on the road!.............It made me realise if he gets posted overseas i will be a gibbering wreck though.

Glad DS ok Shaz, and that you've been ok with the weather Nyk
Hope the interview went well Frankie
To anyone thinking about getting a Wii, I recently bought one as I got paid £120,in cash!!!, from a 3 part media use survey, and decided I deserved a treat. In the 5 weeks I've been doing Wii fit I've lost a stone :j still got a long way to go, but it's been fun and I can easily fit it in to my life. Doesn't matter what the weather's like either0 -

I'd just start a thread on MFW and ask any info you need. If you want to join any challenges for some support there is a 2010 MF wanabees challenge or for a longer term challenge there is a "Mortgage free in three -take 2" challenge starting on the 12th Dec... You don't have to completely repay your mortgage to join in!
Check with your lender about what overpayments you can make (there may be a monthly or yearly limit) and how they are applied and any charges for doing so. If you are on a low int rate it may be better saving the money (in a higher interest rate account - remember tax) then paying it off at a later date - see here for a MSE guide. There are all sorts of mortgage calculators listed in a stickie on the MFW board too so you can get an idea of how much you need to overpay to get rid of it. Locoblade's spreadsheet is good too.Mortgage free as of 12/08/20!
