This is what I have been busy with

Just a couple of adjustments to the nappy and I will be set to make lots.
Made using a small piece of cream fleece blanket from pound shop, washable shower curtain from mr.t. £3.99 but I should be able to get twenty or so out of it, The inner paddings are cut up Tshirt and the check fabric is from an old flannel cotton shirt.

BMF I think the credit unions are regulated by the government. Try ringing your nearest to find out about it. Ours is very friendly and they pride themselves on educating people about budgetting . They even have a bill paying service.
  • evening all- thanks for all the nice comments on motivation etc, nice to know evreyone struggles or has bad days occassionally. Just that i seem to have much more than you all do at present ....lol. But as the comment bigmamma said --no harm in trying and failing. still much better than this time last year. Just need to try and keep up with the thread more and try to keep focused.
Grandma - loving the knitting, looks beautiful and the nappies sound a great idea. Used to cost me a fortune when mine were little , total budget breakers.

Just had unexpected visitors and ended up feeding 7 for the evening!!! least i have a spot of freezer space now ready for this weeks shop. Busy now with cleaning and pressie wrapping then total budget preparation and list compiling. Not going for perfection just another huge improvement.

see you all shortly, have a nice evening

My elder DS is due to fly some Sweden to Birmingham tomorrow...... guess I'll have to wait and see whether he makes it or not

It wont be the Swedish part of the journey that causes a problem. My DS1 flew back from Goteborg yesterday and all was to time.
Doing voluntary work overseas for as long as it takes .......
My DD might make the odd post for me

has anyone else been doing the opening offer on 'BB'? (bingo site)

I have been extremely lucky on this and won over £320 in the month that the 'free' bonus money has been on offer (opening bribe), all for an outlay of £5.
Obviously you risk losing your £5 and must be ABSOLUTELY confident that you can play the system and not get hooked.

I found the info on this site somewhere but have been a bit worried about posting about it here as I don't want to push someone who might get hooked towards a gambling site.

Is this something you have all been doing quietly already?

Hi fruguys and gals! WE HAVE SNOW AT LAST! :D Got loads of piccies from dawn, when the hens & ducks made rather a noise when they got let out to a white winter wonderland LOL

Lovely knitted items, Grandma, and I love the nappies! Do you just use the traditional nappy liners in them? I'm guessing they'd be great as long as there's always someplace warm and airy for drying them once washed, which was the problem I had with real nappies when mine were little. When I had firstborn, we didn't have a washing machine, let alone a tumble drier and with no central heating, drying stuff in winter was a nightmare. Now I come to think of it - I haven't progressed very far in the past 23 years - I now have the washing machine! :rotfl:

The_cat, can you elaborate on the bingo 'thing', as it may be something we're already doing. I signed up to all the cashback ones and did OK out of them, I still do the Butl!n$ site maintaining a balance from free money and topping up daily with the free scratchcard. I have problems playing the bingo games as my Internet connection is slow. I had to give up on the free bingo for same reason.
I reserve the right not to spend.
The less I spend, the more I can afford.
