The CCCS do NOT get debt reductions southernscouser they can help negotiate repayment of the entire debt how ever long thta takes.
Sorry Tr@cker, without hijacking the thread too much I'm just a bit confused by what you mean?
When you say they do not get debt reductions are you talking about IVA's?
If not then I'm confused as to what you think these fee charging debt management companies can offer that The CCCS and Payplan can't!
It is a well known fact that creditors are more willing to negotiate with the charities as they aren't their to make money of someone elses back! The other scumbags are! :mad:0 -
what does 'maintenance £400' cover?0
-
Yes im talking about IVA's where the I.P. can get 25 up to 70% of the debt wiped with a creditors meeting depending on the circumstances.0

Ok.
Food is for myself, girlfriend and three kids, one of which is 10 week old baby.
I have little or no information on most of the debts, basically about three years ago I went through a very bad patch, left the woman I had been with for about 10 years, lost my business etc etc, yeah I know, boo hoo. Anyhow, when I left I didnt take any of my stuff and a lo of my paperwork and agreements etc got binned. As I did nothing but ignore this for last three years I just dont have any info at all. Yes I know I have been daft ignoring this stuff, its not going to go away on its own.
This is why a lot of the stuff above is from debt collectors rather than original lenders. As the cage is rattled by Kensington I guess I will get more info through. All the above is taken mostly from my Credit Report from Equifax.
I cant get a second job, my main job is so varied in times as I am a self employed electrician, I tend to travel all over the place. It is a struggle to get the work in and get known but I am sure it will get busier, with bigger jobs and therefore more earnings.
I know this all sounds like "cant do" attitude, I really am not, I am just looking for a way to sort this out, I dont want to be in this situation for ever but it just always seems that whenever I am making a bit of headway someone or something pulls the rug out from under me.0 -

Correct me if I'm wrong but The CCCS and Payplan are also able to negotiate IVA's on behalf of the client! The same rules apply regardless of who is presenting you. The difference being that they won't charge you for that service or any of their others!
I really can't see any positives in going to a company that charges you money!0 -
' Its a well known fact that creditors will talk to charitable organisations......
...........blah, blah '
Er, who says it is ?0 -
Oh, the gas and electric are both key meters, hence the cost being high, granted the gas will come down a lot now as we rarely have the heating on.
Maintenance is for my first child who still lives with her mum.
I was told I cant do an IVA as I dont have enough income to maintain it.0 -

Good on you mate. It's a right hard slog at times but everyone is here to help you on your journey!
Ditch that Kensington mob and get in touch with The CCCS or Payplan!0 -

Er, who says it is ?
The creditors themselves!
I'm not sure whether you have been given really lousy advice before or perhaps you even work for a debt management organisation but these are facts mate. I'm not here to mis-advise people.
I think we've hijacked this thread enough but sparkysi I just urge you to do a search on here for or even start a thread asking for peoples advice who have switched from a fee paying company to a charity and just listen to their stories!0 -
Few things really from me
Can you get a second part extra solid income is whats needed here.
Go through your house sell what you can on ebay or a car boot
whatever you make snowball at your debts, as well.
Others are right, your outgoings are really high. Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast :beer:0
