    Good morning ladies,
Pippa and f1, hope you're feeling a bit better today. It's possibly due to this changeable weather, wish it would stop it and be proper spring.
ISOM hope you and mum and Isoke are ok.
Warm and sunny wishes to everyone, lots of love xxx

Morning all...just back from church and had lunch. Lodger now moved all her stuff out and we can now unpack the remainder once the carpet is laid in the bedroom...its my work thing this week so mixed feelings there...will be good to get it all done and be able to look forward...Didnt get any hooking done last night but mum making up for it - shes done a tank top and matching hat in 2 days - would have taken me weeks!! Am also doing cat blankets as enjoyed the last one and good when you dont fancy doing more intricate stuff! Still cant get the bottom bit not to be narrower - despite casting on loosely...just dont know what Im doing wrong...
chalky how was the wedding? Miol hope youre settling - dare I ask how the house is getting on? F1 hows unpacking? Psso hope baby is recovered from tummy...hugs those that need them!

ISOM - hope mum is feeling a little better - are you going to be looking for a new lodger? xxx

psso - hope you are hanging in there and baby is better xxx

    Quiet again today!
Kinsey I think you are right about the blinkin weather - never know whether to wear wellies or flip flops :undecided
Thank you Jaqui, I am feeling a bit better and I'm on an enforced stash bust - DH pointing out how much space wool is taking up :o. I was quite surprised how many bits and bobs I had though and now it's all organised which is really nice. This is my first Oxfam jumper and not finding it too bad but still on the first side. I'm finding it straight forward enough to watch rubbish (is there much else on?) on Tv while I do it. I have put off getting back to a baby top that I bought some lovely baby bamboo for because the pattern is wrong :( but I must get on with it.
Sounds like you've got a lot coming up ISOM -keep calm and carry on, as they say. Sounds like you have cracked getting your Mum to rest - knitting needles in hand and keep giving her woolly "projects" :D.
Hope those feeling down, stressed or generally bleurgh feel better soon.

Hello, I am doing a Sands blanket as have never done one before, its easy going but I have also started a preemie cardigan to give me something else to do inbetween as well as doing crochet squares for chalky and having a winter hat on another set of needles for dear hubby! just as well I have plenty spare needles lol! too many projects on the go at once is my problem.... :)

And come tuesday when I have my second scan, I may well have to give up knitting the pink baby things and turn to blue! but I am hoping it is a girl... otherwise the dress and hat and maryjane shoes I have made will be a good present for a friend who is having a girl lol!

    Afternoon all!

Fabulous blankets Chalky - love the scattering of flowers, so sweet and original!

Glad the news of your Mum is better ISOM, and I have everything crossed for your meeting this week. Here's hoping all goes your well and this puts an end to all your horrendous stress and agro.

Hope that you had a fab birthday Maytaurus! Regarding time to knit - I often have to count hours as weeks I am so slow, so try not to be downhearted!

I'm back in rural land for a final few weeks before my sister returns. At the moment I am off all my Abx as they gave me a fungal infection in my mouth (not sure how that works) but carrying on with the LDN as my doc wants to do more blood tests as he suspects something is wrong with mitacondrial cells and possibly with vitamin and calcium absorbtion. I understand not a word, all I know is that I've got to phone a strange surgery where I'm not registered and beg them to take the blood for me so that I can send it to the labs before they take their Summer break!

I'm knitting a little bit again, not charity stuff but I am carrying on with a dishcloth - I want to make three for my sister's friend who has been so kind in keeping an eye out for me while I've been here. I'm sure that they are the sort of thing that should take a few hours, but so far the first one has taken over a week because my concentration is so bad and I keep on having to undo even though it is really simple! I also want to do a few more cleaning things for my sister - I know that essentially I am doing her the favour, but I have really benefitted from the change of scene even though it has made some things very awkward - I have already washed a couple of sets of curtains and I'm aiming to clean some bookshelves as well, and if I'm really lucky I'll find someone to sort out her overgrown hedge, something that her M.E. will make very difficult for her to deal with but which she has no money to spend on even if she was inclined to do something that her landlord should have seen to before she moved in!

Gosh, I seem to have turned you guys into a substitute diary or counselling session! Big hugs to all, and thanks for being there!

Hi all. I've not managed to get on here today because I had to move my desk and PC from the area that we are doing renovation work.

Chalky - I hope all the weddings went well!

    K2tog - hope you're feeling better today.

DON - that's a beautiful set for a girl. Good luck with the scan - if it's a boy this time, maybe it will be a girl next time!

Seakay - it's quite common for antibiotics to cause fungal infections (in the mouth and elsewhere) but the doctor should be able to give you something for that. Otherwise, natural yoghurt is really good for fungal infections so a cheap alternative to a prescription.

Pippa - welcome back and hope you feel better soon.

F1 - hope you're starting to settle in after the move.

ISOM - the house is coming on slowly but surely. We are working on the little window that we exposed when we vaulted the ceiling in the dining room. We replaced the glass yesterday and treated the old lintel for woodworm today, then the frame and lintel will be waxed to bring out the grain in the old timber. I think it's going to be a real feature when it's finished. I'll post photos when it's done!

Well, I've managed to do some crochet and will try and get some more done this evening.

    UPDATE: I Chalky square
    1 Mrs Twins square

Hope you all have a good evening. Maybe they'll have decided who the next Prime Minister is by tonight!

Anyone know how to get to your sig now that they've changed the format on here? I can't find 'user cp' now!

No worry - I've just found that you can change back to MSE V1 at the bottom left hand side of the page so I clicked on that and found 'user cp'.

Hi all, been awol for a few days again as been pretty stressful here this week.
Had DS in to see cardiac surgeon on Wednesday and his valve op is getting more imminent - he has to have a CT scan done soon so that the surgeon can see exactly what he will be dealing with, then DS will be given the date for his op. _pale_ Obviously he will be going through the same procedure as Jim, same wards, staff etc but hopefully because of the official complaint I made, he will not have the same lack of attention. Fingers crossed anyway.:(

On top of that, my car died on me and will need to have the engine replaced - mega bucks job that - about £1000 for parts and labour I`m told :eek: maybe have to go out singing to raise some cash. Folk would probably pay handsomely to get me to stop !!!!!!! If only I didn`t need a car, but we are a good bit from the nearest bus stop so looks like I`ll have to dip into the kitty. Oh dear. (No pun intended :o)

Little J still having deeelightful nappies but doesn`t seem upset by it. Maybe it`s the stuff we have to add to his bottle causing it, might have to ask about it. Funny thing.....DD always has to go to the loo - make up his bottle -etc etc when he has to be changed.I know she doesn`t like Colman`s mustard, but :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:.

Well, I`ve got a sinkful of dishes to do so I`d better get going.

Oh fiddlesticks, they can wait, I`ll put the kettle on and sit down with my knitting for a while, there`s no-one here to bother me so I`ll do what I want - not what I should.
