I know a gay man who provided his sperm for a gay female couple.

It was all done, very informally with no fancy kit, at their house at the right time of the month. Just some gay !!!!!! for him and a good old turkey baster for them (sorry if that it TMI)

And it worked but I do think that was a bit of luck.

Whilst wishing you well, I would suggest that one of the partners in the relationship cannot be physically tied to the child, and this would always have the potential for there being a one-sidedness towards the natural mother.

I think that many adoptive parents could argue very compellingly that they don't need to share DNA with a child to love it unquestioningly and lesbian non-birth mothers are exactly the same.

A lot of info about gay options in here. Just wanted to say good luck. My son is gay (with a partner) they are at the talking about this stage, my daughter as offered to be a surrogate for them (partners sperm invitro obviously). dont know if they will go down this road yet, I just know they will make fantastic parents both of them.

Just wanted to wish you the best of luck in your efforts in becoming a child
I have a girl at work who has 2 girls with her lesbian partner,
And like juliescot said as lovely as it is,
they had a male friend who was happy to be the sperm donar for both the children, and it was turkey baster time and it worked for them. eldest child i think is about 3 and the new baby is about 5months ish.
It worked for them and there donor is a family friend and is not gay.
The girls are being brought up with him around refferring to him as uncle (family friend style) and when they are old enough to understand he is happy for them to know who he truely is.
    So its worked for them.
  • pinkneonmartini- Seriously, you learn something new everyday!!! I feel a bit like you have just invented that and its a fabulous idea. Clearly I know you haven't and that it is something that has been happening for years but I just had no idea, I suppose I has no reason to know. My neice is gay and at 20 has no wishes for a child but she might one day, I am very impressed!!!

My friends went to a private clinic and choose a donor that was closest to the one who would not be carrying the baby. This method also gives them the chance to have another child using the same donor in the future so their children will be biologically related. They said the whole experience was very positive and that the clinic staff were lovely. All that remains now is for the non-carrying mum to adopt their bundle of joy.
