you can pick up an nokia n97 for around £250 off someone thats been upgraded these days.
While many were disapointed with it it's still a top of the line nokia touchscreen smartphone with 32gigs+ storage.0 -

Smart phones, are ones generally with applications on them.Wikipedia wrote:A smartphone is a mobile phone offering advanced capabilities, often with PC-like functionality (PC-mobile handset convergence). There is no industry standard definition of a smartphone.[1][2] For some, a smartphone is a phone that runs complete operating system software providing a standardized interface and platform for application developers.[3] For others, a smartphone is simply a phone with advanced features like e-mail, Internet and e-book reader capabilities, and/or a built-in full keyboard or external USB keyboard and VGA connector. In other words, it is a miniature computer that has phone capability.[4][5]
Growth in demand for advanced mobile devices boasting powerful processors, abundant memory, large screens and open operating systems has outpaced the rest of the mobile phone market for several years.[6]

There are two ways of constructing a software design: One way is to make it so simple that there are obviously no deficiencies, and the other way is to make it so complicated that there are no obvious deficiencies0 -

its a dumb phone from what i can make out but supports 16gb memory cards so lots of music.
frankly i would ask them what they want to do. if your kids a tech geek they will likely be happyier with a lower spec windows mobile device since they can get all kinds of mods.
if they just need it for show why the hell do they need a slide out key board, it adds to the bulk and without a proper os doesnt give you much extra.0
