we have stayed there twice before and are going there again in a few weeks.

nice art deco hotel friendly staff,free continental breakfast and complimentry tea/coffee all day.
the hotel is 1 block from the empire state building macy's is across the road ideal for late night shopping and there is a subway entrance 100yrds from the hotel door on the corner of 35th street i think the hotel is between broadway and 5th avenue 35th st.

nice view from roof terrace excellent quiet location, dont expect fabulous views of the city from your room window though (you can see the esb though)

thanks for the feedback ....am looking at all the hotels you have mentioned. Went to https://www.biddingfortravel.com but got lost as to what to do...will look into it again. Looking into red roof inn and quality hotel so far, seems good.
