"phone restricted" msg on Nokia 8310

I have recently turned on my Nokia 8310 to use; only to be welcomed with a my message saying "Phone restricted". It asked me for the code which I dont know.
Would it be possible for it to be fixed. If so how??

try taking the battery and sim card out and putting back together, my missus had same problem on nokia 62800

its not a problem, it needs unlocking see the thread earlier up on the boards... about unlocking or ask drachir or browntoa, they know all about this stuff!0
