"Phone restricted" msg on my Nokia 8310

I have recently turned on my Nokia 8310 to use; only to be welcomed with a my message saying "Phone restricted". It asked me for the code which I dont know.
Would it be possible for it to be fixed. If so how??

The wife was using her old 6610i for a while there & it did the same. I just unplugged the battery, plugged it back in & all was well.Certain OTT members have caused me to add this disclaimer: all advice given is free of charge & as such should be taken to be IIRC (as I don't spend hours researching all answers :eek: )!0

Have you put a different network's SIM in your phone? If so, your phone may be locked to only accept SIM cards of a particular network. It just needs unlocking by entering a code if this is the case.0
