Help With Virus Please !!!

i have norton antivirus which is all up to date. if i run an all system scan i get the following viruses coming up which i cant delete or repair.WinAntispyware. it gives a source ? which is
C:\WINDOWS\TEMP\NI.UWAS6_0001_N73M1104\setup.exe
description The file above is a security risk threat.
also i have Trojan.Zlob , some are deleted automatically but some say access denied.
when i am online i get constant popups , lots of sex sites and adverts for antispyware companies offering their products , Spyfalcon being the main one, and sometimes the site i am on closes down.
i have run a scan in safe mode and the files still cannot be deleted i am given the option of exclude or skip.

This is really driving me nuts. I am not very techie minded so would be very grateful for any help. thanks

Hi first of all can you download Ad-Aware http://www.lavasoft.de/software/adaware/

and run this that should rid you of pop ups etc.

it may also stop the error message, but do the adware scan first then post back.

I would also recommend you download CCleaner
    http://www.ccleaner.com/ccdownload.asp
    and run that also

    Both programs are free.
    Good Luck

Trojan.zlob is straightforward to delete manually as long as you remember to disable system restore before you go for the registry edits.

:j you could format, or start/my computer/ c drive/ and follow the path and delete it, or try start/search/ type in the name and see if it picks it up then delete it or try a2free if you google this its a free trojan horse catcher,or http://support.microsoft.com/kb/255867/en-us follow this link to see how to format.

notasdaftasilook ... you are right to try the Guide first.

Forget everything else said here until you have worked through all the steps in the first 4 posts to that thread.

THEN report back and let us know how your system is operating.

If you still have trouble at that point (very likely) you should post a HijackThis log to this thread for more specific advice.

This is not helpful. There is much more here than just one Trojan and at least some of them problems won't be fixed easily.

Your recommendation could distract notasdaftasilook from what is needed to fix everything.

There is no point advising how to remove only one piece of malware. The bigger picture needs to be addressed.

Like I advised in post #8, notasdaftasilook, you stick with your original intention. Work through the guide first then post back the results as I asked.
  • Thanks for all your help . i have gone through the steps on the guide and the popups have stopped but when i log in the first page is an antispyware site. when i run the scans with norton and spybot search and destroy, the system comes up with no infections although there must be something somewhere ? i am not very techie minded so not sure how to do a proper check or how to delete things if i find something. grateful for help on this , thanks
