Just a quick note to remind people to check their local exchange to see if they are in an area that is covered by the new technology. It comes straight down your phone line just like normal ADSL but is basically twice as fast and the best part is that it doesn't cost any more than normal ADSL and works with most modern routers!
I can't post links, but go to google and type 'ADSL2+ checker' or something like that and you'll get several options for testing your phone number.
ISPs I know of that support the service are BT Internet (I think), O2, Be and Plusnet (test phase). I'm sure there are others but I'm not going to look them up here.
If you find you're in an area that is covered then talk to your ISP to find out when they plan to take advantage of it. If they have no plans in the near future it could well be worth while switching to an ISP that does.
I believe only 5-10% of the country is currently covered but it's increasing fast.
As an additional bonus it also doubles your UPLOAD speeds so posting pictures to facebook will become a lot easier.

My ISP IDnet is another one that supports it, however sadly my exchange does not.0

I was getting 6mbs from Zen on ADSL, I moved to o2 on ADSL2+ way back; am now getting 13-14mbs down the same piece of BT wire for almost a third of the price - not bad !0
