mabe if your employer thought you were worthy of a rise they would give you one and let it eat into their profits.

Completely agree with you. I've just started a job at Burger King. It's minimum wage and bloody hard hard work, folk knuckle down and EARN their minimum wage.

edit. My other job pays circa 60K. a minimum wage job, is not beneath anybody.
