As from thursday the 1st october those of you on the NMW will be getting a 7p pay rise. Yay.
for the average fulltime worker this is £3 a week.
so what are you going to do with your new found fortune? Buy a bentley? A house deposit? An extra pint on the weekend? 300 penny sweets? 30 packs of space raiders? 10 extra cancer sticks?
i just cant decide

No!! You will bankrupt your employers, i read it in a newspaper, this 7p increase is going to lead to an extra 5 million unemployed, big businesses just cant cope with such a massive rise0

Correct.
Basically the dregs of society benefit from being in dead end jobs with a rise whilst the vast majority of us face pay cuts etc and increased bills to fund it.
Brillant.
I'd be quite happy for my local mcdonalds staff to be a sky package down and not see prices go up:rolleyes:0 -

That sounds a bit harsh! Surely you'd prefer what you call "dregs" (how on earth can they be dregs, they are working for living, not living on benefits (and quick note, I don't mean those looking for work, I mean people who CHOOSE not to work! The Very Right Honourable Lady Tarry of the Alphabetty thread-I just love finding bargains and saving moneyI love to travel as much as I can when I canLife has a way to test you, it's how you deal with this that matters0 -

Those dregs of society are some of the most important people out there.
they aqe the people who empty your bins, staff the shops, cook that romantic meal, clean your offices etc.
what a nice person you are, i hope your made redundant, you need to be taken down a peg or two.
mabe if your employer thought you were worthy of a rise they would give you one and let it eat into their profits.

Anihilator seems very pleased with him/herself and appears to have earned the right to look down on others. I wonder what non 'dead end job' he/she has?0

Take off tax and NI, and it's down to £1-93 based on 40 hour week.0 -
Isn't it all a bit pointless when low wages are subsidised by Housing Benefit anyway?0
