:shhh: are you sure you need any help, or could you at least give the spec of the PC as my crystal ball is in the dishwaser0
-
click "ctrl+alt+del" go in2 task manager and see which program is taking up the most CPU (process tab)... will narrow down the source of ur problem0
-
Mine does this occasionally and the one at the bottom "Sysytem Idle process" fluctuates a lot whilst I view it but it is ften at 98ish dropping to 66 17 etc and back up to 98. Is there something wrong or is this normal?0
-
Have you tried Disk Cleanup and Disk Defragmenter?0
-
sorry it was so short yesterday - was totally p***d off because that short sentance took forever to load.......

:j try these, ad-aware gets rid of cookies
a2free gets rid of trojans
start/run/msconfig/start-up and knock everything off
if your pc doesnt work ok after that try putting some of the msconfig's back on, or does it need defraging, if all else fails format. if you don't use msn remove it start/control panel/add remove/add remove components at the
left side and remove.
you could also try the disk clean up.
but when mine starts to play up i just format.
Pls be nice to all MSer's

thanks hun - but, have already tried all them - i would like to know really why there are two of some stuff in there - does anyone know - and, what does everything mean? what can i do without...
thanks0 -
magoogy ... if you want to learn what these processes do you should google them and research. They all look OK to me except these 3 ...
'' '' network service - 1,308 k
'' '' system - 10.368k
'' '' - system - 2,008 k
Please run system-wide searches for each of these and let us know exactly where they are running from. Please give details of what you find.
It would be helpful to cleanse your system of malware that may be lurking/running without your knowledge. To do this you should work through the first 4 posts to this thread ...
http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=133269
Please report back ...
(a) what you find for those 3 processes (if anything)
(b) how your system is operating after you have gone through the thread I recommend.0 -
that does seem to have helped a little bit thanks, but, only time will tell if it has totally done the job......
i tried googling the above 3 but couldnt find them - not sure at all what they are....do you think i should delete them and see what happens?
thanks for your help0 -
Download and install Sysinternals Process Explorer - http://www.sysinternals.com/Utilities/ProcessExplorer.html.
It gives more information than Task Manager. Double-click the process name and look on the Image tab for command line being used to run svchost.exe. On the face of it, those 3 processes look normal to me, but check them as described.0
