Had the best afternoon tea ever in the Old Pump Room @ Bath. :T

It may be a bit far to travel from Windsor Castle.:rotfl:

If you do go to Windsor Castle. Check the leaflet they give you when you go in. If you complete it on the day you can visit for free for the rest of the year.

  • I would happily recommend The Ritz Hotel. Fortunately have been a couple of times when i still lived in London and it was excellent. Have booked for next year and it's £37.00 per person, check it out online for the menu. We loved it.
  • Fawsley Hall Nr Daventry, Northamptonshire was fantastic, was quite reasonably priced too.

just spent weekend at Travelodge near Bath - Beckington (brilliant tl and it was only £9 per night) We had afternoon tea at the canal visitors centre (just up the road from the tl)- Huge scones 2 each massive amount of jam and cream and the tea was excellent and for two of us it was only £8 and you get to walk along the canal and walk it off ! Perfect food and place.:j:j:j:j:j

Have to agree there. It's expensive. But Betty's is pretty much the gold standard for afternoon tea. Well worth doing, if only once!

Betty's is amazing! I think it says everything about me that my way of celebrating handing in my last piece of work for uni (and ipso facto finishing my degree) was to go to Betty's and order a fat rascal (fruit scone type thing) and a pot of tea.

In London, I've heard Claridges' afternoon tea is very nice.

Oooh Acid, that's a little rude! Fair enough if it's not your thing, but maybe at least be polite enough to say 'thanks anyway'?? People are taking their time to reply to your question and that's the best you can do to show your appreciation??

    Hmmm.....

Anyway, back on topic, someone mentioned Claridges. I've had afternoon tea there a few times and love it. It really is one of those things everyone should experience once. We've been back with my brother and my Grandad and they all agree it's fab....expensive at around £30 per person, but fab!

PS. Hope I'm not being a mug replying to someone who doesn't even have the courtesy to be appreciative of the replies, but if so, hopefully this reply (and the others) may help others reading the thread!
