I sent the template letter from this site, how does this differ from a full SAR or what I hear other people talk about?
I doubt within the next 3 days the statements/list of charges will arrive, so what do I do next? Can I report them to someone/an official body?
Is there a postal strike in your area? I would ring Abbey and ask them if they have been ordered and when they were sent out.0 -
If it's anything like the time it takes for their Complaints Dept. to reply, you could be in for a long wait. I wrote to them on the 2nd July,18th September & 10th October and still nothing. I'm very sadly disillusioned with the service Abbey now provide. Hope you don't have to wait too long.0

Which address did you write to and was it recorded delivery?Francesanne wrote: »If it's anything like the time it takes for their Complaints Dept. to reply, you could be in for a long wait. Did you complete one of their online forms?0 -
Abbey replied, see below;
Thank you for your recent request. Abbey is not normally required to hold past transaction details on your account for more than 6 years. Unfortunately, we’re therefore unable to give you the details you’ve asked for.
If you have any questions please give us a call on the number above.
Is this normal? Or are they just stalling for more time? What should I do next?0 -
Ask them for proof that they have destroyed your data in writing.ExNicotineQueen wrote: »Abbey replied, see below;

When was the account opened and when was the account closed?0 -

When was the account opened and when was the account closed?
My OH has had the account probably since late teens so a good 20 odd years or so. The account isn't closed, it is still open and active.
When you say ask them for proof that they have destroyed the data, what 'proof' am I am exactly asking for? Some kind of official record or document that specifies that this data has been destroyed?0 -
yep because the cannot destroy data unless it is inaccurate. They need to provide proof that they no longer hold the data.ExNicotineQueen wrote: »My OH has had the account probably since late teens so a good 20 odd years or so. The account isn't closed, it is still open and active.
