Black HTC Hero?
I've just cancelled my contract with o2, due to rubbish retention deals. I have been looking at the HTC Hero on other networks, as I fancied the Samsung Galaxy on o2.
I like the black one best though and can only find it on the T mobile site which doesn't seem to have very competitive tarrifs. Has anyone seen it anywhere else or does anyone have any opinions on the graphite colour as orange seem to have the best deals (would still prefer black though!)
Thanks!

The black is a colour exclusive to T Mobile, so if you wanted it on any other network, you'd have to have a different colour.
Direct from T Mobile retail (online/in store/over the phone) you're looking at £40 a month for either the flext 40 - £225 of allowance to use on calls, sms, mms, numbers beginning 0800, 0845, and 0870, voicemail retrieval, and calls and texts to international countries plus internet with a 3GB fair usage, or £45 for a combi 40 with web and walk which gives you 1000 minutes, unlimited texts and internet with a 3GB fair usage policy. They're both 18 month contracts, not sure what it is on a 24 month contract.
I think you can get it cheaper on T Mobile if you shop around with the indies, and using the cash back sites.
Also, t mobile retail offer a 7 day guarantee under 'streetcheck' whereby we check your signal, and if it doesn't give you the coverage that it says, you can cancel your contract. Again, this only applies if you buy it direct from T Mobile.

Thanks for the info. Looks like I might have to try the graphite then unless anyone can recommend any independant sites that are trustworthy?
On the orange website I can get the hero with unlimited texts , mobile internet and more than enough calls for £30. Although the phone will cost me nearly £50 this will hopefully cancelled out with quidco0 -
The have the black version on the dialtosave website, going through a company called Beepy (never heard of them).
£23.89 per month
Black HTC Hero
700 minutes
Unlimited SMS
3GB data
18 month contract with T-Mobile
Also, there is £40 Quidco (Beepy) which would work out at £21.67 per month (Life of the contract is £430 without Quidco, £390 with).
I think I am probably going to do this myself. Returning an HTC Magic to Vodafone today as I though it had a 3.5mm audio jack. Hero does.
Problem is, I don't really like using T-Mobile as they charge for voicemail. I think they're the only operator that does with contracts. Although they do have the best data allowance.
Hope this helps.

Hi Lestergun.
I can't see the tariff on the website, only a combi 30 and web n walk which would give 700 mins, 400 txt and 1000mb data? Could you link to it please?
Also, I wonder if anyone else has heard of this company and whether they honour cashback deals?0 -

They give 200 quid cash back which you must redeem at certain stages of the contract to bring it down to £23.89 from £35.Try to imagine nothing ever existed...0 -
I think the best deal for me is a Black HTC Hero via T-Mobile on the below deal:
12 month contract
500 minutes
375 texts
1GB data
This is £40 per month which seems like a lot although the third-party offering the deal (Beepy) are giving £100 cash-back plus there is also £40 Quidco.
So after the £100 cash-back it becomes £31.67 per month...
...and after the £40 Quidco the price becomes £28.33p/m.
Not the cheapest, I know, but I am very reluctant to commit to more than 12 months.0
