Jeez, you're as hard-headed as me. I'm sure we'd get along famously in other circumstances. There used to be a street named after Chuck Norris, but it was changed because nobody crosses Chuck Norris and lives.0

I know what you mean dollparts, it's great to have both a partner and a dog around to love and who love you.
None of my business but good on you for kicking him out!

It's no secret as such, although I wasn't counting on having to bring him into the conversation;)There used to be a street named after Chuck Norris, but it was changed because nobody crosses Chuck Norris and lives.0 -
Dollparts- it sounds to me like youd make a lovely dog owner, my only concern would be that by relying on others to help you out with the money side, that things may change over the life time of the dog, so you need to be sure that you can afford it if this happens e.g people lse there jobs, relationships end etc etc.
Im speaking from experiance as my last dog cost me well over £3,000 in the last year of his life for vets bills after he developed cancer. And unfortanetly this happened out of the blue a few weeks after i'd lost my job. I had no choice but to put the costs on my credit card and its taken me SO long to pay them off-not that i regret paying it for one minute.
I think this is what another poster was getting at when they asked what would happen if you no longer worked from home, as you have to bear in mind that alot could change in the approx 15 years a dog may live.
As i said im in no way judging you (you sound like a good dog owner to me) but you may want to consider what you may do if the situation was to change.0 -
Hey, I already told you it wasn't my doing and that it was you that bought your situation with him up not me. It was a mistake in communication
Hey hey hey, I wasn't firing this up again. I thought we had squared this yesterday Kimberley.
my last post wasn't a dig at you, I was just responding to someone elses comment.
Can we just get back on topic please? There used to be a street named after Chuck Norris, but it was changed because nobody crosses Chuck Norris and lives.0 -

Thanks Loulou, It's not relying as such iyswim it's a tradition in our family-Mum and dad have bought all my siblings pets and they settle any expenses that arise-it's the way it's been done for years. I'm at a point in my life where I feel ready to have a dog, a decision I have taken ages to make.
True, situations do change but tbh if I thought like that I would never do anything in life!
In brief, my parents are financially sound and dog expenses will not be an issue. I have a strong relationship with Mum and Dad no no risk there either.
At the same time I do take on board what you are sayingThere used to be a street named after Chuck Norris, but it was changed because nobody crosses Chuck Norris and lives.0
