if its a USB key or a external (magnetic media) disc drive - just drag and drop your files from the folder on the PC to a to a folder in the device. If it's a CD/DVD R or RW disc, you'll need to use burning software.

edit: or see this thread to get software that remembers what stuff you have and haven't already backed up and just backs up the changes each time you use it

Not in the way Drag'n'Crypt ULTRA is, try it, a lot easier than Truecrypt!
Standard drag and drop is fine for me!

As far as TrueCrypt is concerned, it's worth making sure that you format any volume as NTFS (it annoyingly defaults to FAT). There are reports of BSOD's being attributable to using FAT.

Is Drag'n'Crypt ULTRA only in German?

No if you look to the top left hand of the website theres some flags to change the language. Program is in english.

Hmmm, having just taken a look I have to say I'm not impressed. Sure it's an easy (though irritating!) user interface, but very inflexible.

Just so you know, Windows 7 includes an updated version of Bitlocker, with Bitlocker To Go for encrypting portable storage devices.

(Available on Enterprise and Ultimate versions)
The pen is mightier than the sword, and considerably easier to write with.

Think Bitlocker to go is just on the Enterprise version.
